New UI is totally lame to use. Who cares if the picture is streched bigger. In the OldUI you can see the ENTIRE picture with your effects icons turned off AND the entire GUI. NewUI covers 1/3 of the picture atleast with windows and stuff for us people with ghei computers.
Try the /viewport command.

Salutations,
I happen to know where Plazoo lives and unless his little ones got him up yet (which I don't think so... it's still fricken dark out... moon is out though, looks pretty) I don't think he's up, unless he's like my parents (whom are out running, waking up the relatives down the street who come over to be christmas-y with us...). so anyway... um... whats the phrase i'm looking for... be patient

If people are going to make custom UI's for this to work I thought of some ideas in my sleep last night. You could revamp the player information menu, and the inventory with adding in new stuff such as exact mana, and for target menu you can stuff in the loc of your target and distance away from you. Would be a neat idea.

Would it be possible for a custom MQ interface to work? As in, create a UI that is compatable with /click?

Salutations,
The reason that MQ's current click doesn't work is because it clicks below the panels.

Clarification

Lizard, Might want to explain that you mean by "clicks below the panel" so all us newbies to EQ interface can follow what you mean and stop asking the same stupid question.

Salutations,
basically the 'panels' (the inventory panel, the spell book panel, chat panel, etc) are on a different 'layer' then the background (where we see the 3d world redered as a 2d image) so if you use /click target it should technically work, but I actually have no clue, i've never tested it.

Phantal... I'm just curious...
Can they click pack slots that aren't open?

Is getting /click to work again more of an issue with packet decoding, or is it a DirectX problem? It seems to me that it would be easy enough to just send the mouseclick event which would be indistinguishable from a regular mouse click, but I don't know squat about DX8 programming.

It's not so much a problem of getting /click to work, it's getting /click to work how I want it to.
In the old UI, MQ told EQ a click was done at x,y and that was it.
In the new UI, MQ will (read, by Sunday... work is hell right now) completely bypass clicks...
So instead of "I clicked pack 2 open, then click slot 1" it will be "I picked up the item in pack 2 slot 1 to the cursor"
Instead of "I clicked the autoequip area" it will be "I'm autoequiping this item"

On the brighter side of things.... (assuming they don't hose everything) everything else about MQ will work, right? Just another patch, another .ini to fix... right? If I had to start actually PLAYING the game... I dunno if I could handle that, I have schoolwork and stuff that I should be doing... I don't have time to play EQ.
