You need more RAM

There's no way a 3rd can start without having any RAM left, as DM is implying.

As in my post, you should generally allocate 512 per session. 2 sessions at 768 is pushing it, but doable. 1.2 and up is about where 3 sessions become feasable.

Vid card can also come into the equation as well, assuming you're caring about whats on the screen.
My comp can run 4 EQ sessions without graphic artifacts/screw ups, while the gf's screen turns into a mass of grey blobs with 2 sessions. (256mb 9600XT vs some Geforce3 128MB PoS)

My 900 athlon runs 3 in OOW with only 768 ram 5200fx 128mb card zone times are extreamly slow but its possible. Just turn off all the shit you dont need.

Running 4 on 1.2 gigs ram isnt bad either long as you dont have all the worthless shit on. Spell effects max particle density so forth. Nothing of mine is top line either. athlon 1.6 fx5200 256 card 1.2 gig ram. As long as not raiding with more then 30ish in the area very little lag even with 4 on

3 ghz processor, 256 Nvidia graph card, 2gig ram, 160gb hardrive I run up to 5 chars on that comp. But I get bleedover when just running three even had it the other day with 2 even.

My old 800mhz P3 with 512mb of memory could run 2 sessions if all the added graphics were low/off (3 if I always had the 2 others minimized).

are you referring to the program autofire?

I run 4 toons on 1 box, 3.0Ghz, 2Gb ram, 256mb vid card. On WinEQ2 I've noticed some bleedovers, but nothing to the extent that is has bothered me. Trying to run a fifth toon just pops up a "Cant load another 3d session because there are no more video memory" hehe.

If you turn all the video options down, you can get 6 on that machine, I've done it on mine, about the same specs.

Or..... you could go out and get a decent computer, and not have to worry about turning off any options ;)

Unless your going to drop 4-5k on a pc your not going to run 5 toons with full options. And even with that price tag.. I think you will lag

WinEQ2 Preferences->EverQuest->General->Hide memory warnings: ON

No, that's not a warning.. that's a flat out fatal error. With no video memory remaining, you cant open another session, which is what the box pops up and says when he tries. Sure, he could hide the warnings that show up in text in the game, but will never be able to run another session ;)
