Nothing personal, but this is the internet, rumors abound, and most of them are unfounded. SOE's customer support is so piss poor and understaffed I seriously doubt they have the time or corportate direction to be reviewing logs of who killed what when and how. The most egregious cheaters will get banned, they always do, but I doubt SOE has put in new tools/tricks to check for cheaters to be honest.
I guess we'll find out in due time who is right and who is wrong then.
I will say these "rumors" have pretty good sources (i.e., new tools being implemented and devs personally watching raid mobs being exploited). Like I said, feel free to do what you've always been doing. I wont miss you.

I don't use any of the active hacks. Hell, my macros all use advpath to wander around because I don't even want to use warp. I'm just cynical about the rumors of SOE cracking down on things... because since 1999, there have been hundreds of rumors about them banning people for every cheat you can imagine, and other than a couple of large scale bannings early on when it was Verant, SOE hasn't done squat about rampant cheating in the game at all. They manage to snag the worst offenders and call it a day.
I remember people flipping out because SOE supposedly had found some way to detect people who were using SEQ.
I'll be glad if they ban people abusing the system like this, I won't miss them. But I doubt more than a handfull will get popped.

6 accounts were banned on the 7th hammer two nights ago for killing txevu named from ZI.
it took a lot of player interaction but
perhaps SoE is finally getting off its ass

I have also *heard* that accounts have been banned on 7th, but that is not saying much. I don't know of anyone getting banned first hand. Perhaps there will be more confirmation in a few days.

So if you think they're not watching you may want to think again. On second thought.. Just keep doing what you're doing. Nobody will know. Really.
Well, if you heard it, it must be true.

You sir are full of shit. I was the guild leader of Age of Tyranny. I was told every offense that was taken against a member of my guild would be taken against my account also whether I was present or not. At one point, over half our active roster was suspended for MQ use. 8 people ended up banned in the end.

Bloodurst, that's a crock of crap.
You're not the captain of a ship, you aren't responsible for your guild members cheating. Whoever told you that was completely full of crap. Your guild may have been one of the outstandingly bad cheating guilds, you got what you deserved.
Remember Conquest? They deserved to be banned too.
You wanna hack the game, it comes with a risk. The smarter players keep the hacking/exploiting to a minimum and fly under the radar.

actualy Digital hes not full of shit as we are on or were on the same server I have seen the logs of the GM that was there when it was all going down when he tried to end the rampant MQ pluging-fest that was getting people banned... the GM regardless right or wrong made the statment that blood says and carried it out.. guilt by assosiation, its the new SoE-Communist way :) love it or hate it thats whats going on from GM V

Those of us that were smart DID stay off of the radar. The problem is that some of the smart people were the leaders and still got shit for the retards.

It was all a bad situation. The shitty thing about the whole situation is even if we did use active hacks, we never used them to be unfair to the competition. There were several instances where we made sure the cother actually ran when he was told not to jump.
We got what we deserved for having retards.

I hope you didn't get banned if you weren't hacking, that'd be some crap right three. But it is SOE, so who knows. Most GMs are swamped, and unless something is really blatant, they don't care/don't have the time/aren't given direction by corporate to care.
