There's a very simple answer to this. The only [known] means of detection is Sony witnessing you cheating (doing the same thing over and over, warping, etc). Zoning has nothing to do with being detected. In other words, if you don't make it obvious that you're cheating, you probably wont be caught.

Actually it's quiet simple to avoid SOE detection. You just have to run the Macoquest command "/soemacrodetectioncountermeasure on" really quick after logging in with MQ loaded. If you get any type of error, i.e. "Macro already running", "Unable to load plugin" or "That is not a valid command" then you should IMMEADIATLY log out, even better just /quit because 30 seconds is all it takes for SOE to trace your account and ban you.

Or you can qrap your entire computer in tinfoil... That'll keep the SOE satellite death beams at bay for an extra couple seconds, giving you enough time to either type "/soemacrodetectioncountermeasure on" or pray to your chosen god of foil. Either way is equally effective.

Sony also employs a computer based AI they call the Hound. It is programmed to watch for specific instances of data incoming from computers using MQ2. It is not capable of catching them all, but enough of them that they can get your IP Addy and ban your account, as well as ban your ISP thus causing them to drop you as a customer. The "Hound" seems to detect when you chain cast spells, or songs right after you zone, more often than anything else.

The "Hound" also watches for other things like out of range corpses showing on your screen, world timers and traps that become visible on your map. Using the MQ2 map plugin features is a sure way to get caught.

Lol, did you get that from Fahrenheit 451?

Also, did you know that all members of MacroQuest forums with 4 stars or more are actually undercover agents for the CIA trying to hunt out communists? They also send information on people like Shadow to Sony for extra money, since they can easily find out your in-game name and ban you. Remember, Sony is paying LOTS of money to the CIA to hunt down macroers such as us, it's amazing that we didn't all get a 2ยข fine for doing this. You gotta get better at keeping a low profile, or you'll be next on their list of fines.
Geez, you actually think GMs REALLY care that much about people with spell automaters? They're not mindless toons that are macroed, they have lives too. But boy, would I like to get my hands on a plugin that auto warps to any zone... *AJ2K8 drools*

So you too can be one the people that give the rest of us a bad name, and cause more grief then I could rip out of your worthless hide with a pair of pliers?

Was that harsh of me to say?
