no logs, no window, no nothing

Post by n00b » Tue Jul 19, 2005 6:13 pm

I looked at [[MacroQuest2:Troubleshooting]] I didnt find an answer.

OK, Ive never used MQ before.. so yeah Im probably missing something obvious.

So, the compile went ok, its running in my task tray, I start up eq.. in my macroquest.ini file I have under [plugins]

mq2chatwnd=mq2chatwnd

amongst others..

no errors are displayed.

but,no window appears

/unload doesnt work

MQ and be closed without effecting eq.. its not attaching..

so.

What did I miss..

If you type /who, does the window pop up anywhere and give you any information? What about /echo Even in the future nothing works!? Do you see the window then, or does the client tell you that echo is an unknown command?

unknown command. It obviously hasnt hooked into eq.. but it also hasnt said why it wouldnt.

I would normally try something like this out on test first.. if that makes a difference, but it didnt appear to on this occasion.

Are you on the Test server or one of the non US servers?

I was going to try it on test as you can create toons with no effort.
But, as I said, I tried it on normal US servers, didnt say or do anything either.

The MQ2 icon in the tray means nothing. MacroQuest2.exe is not part of the build and exists before the project is built.

Verify that MQ2main.dll is in the same directory as MacroQuest2.exe and is about 548k is size. I am betting that you didn't compile the project properly.

?? all the posts I read about issues said Macroquest.exe should be about 50k.. not 500 and that any that are 500 are the virused ones you would have downloaded...

MQMain.dll is also in that directory and is 605k.

You are fucking stupid if you can read:

Verify that MQ2main.dll is in the same directory as MacroQuest2.exe and is about 548k is size. I am betting that you didn't compile the project properly.
And think that 548k refers to MacroQuest2.exe.

Look.. MQ2 works for everyone on planet earth..... except for you. Understand that if you can't figure this out, you are too dumb to use MQ2.

getting mq2 up and running is fool-proof. not only that, but there are tons of threads and tons of information to support how fool-proof it is. If you can't get it working, good. You just weren't meant to ever use mq2 and that's fine with me.

Well

1. Im dyslexic
2. I may have misread it but you didnt have to be so rude about it
3. You were no help what so ever
4. Given its not saying any errors, and I did search (thank you for not reading) .. this was why I posted.
5. I dont think Im losing out if MQ doesnt work its probably not as good as you all believe it is, and arguably is bannable anyway. So perhaps, Im not losing out, but will gain in the long run..

Yes Id like to have used it but so many people seem to be quick to insult and slow to help.. I dont suppose it would have been the fun I thought
