Sure, he could hide the warnings that show up in text in the game, but will never be able to run another session Wink
actually, i have to turn off show memory warnings to be able to log in more than 2 characters on this machine. with it turned off, i play 5 characters

Dunno what to tell you, there is absolutely no way around getting that error (besides getting a new video card with more RAM on it), because it's from Direct3D returning an out of memory error, not from WinEQ. The in-game warnings are WinEQ warnings.

I can run 3 toons (when I had someones account as a 3rd for it's final month) with full options without too much lag. Usually I just get delay from the toons that are under the current. Not to boast or anything. Honestly though, you can build yourself a strong computer for 1k or under. A 64-bit gamer nontheless.
Also, I think those that pay for more than 5 accounts are out of their minds. Sometimes I ask myself why I have 2.

Does /viewport actually reduce the amount of pixels being rendered?

Man, /viewport is amazing, just reducing the rendered screensize has completely changed CPU load and memory utilization for my main system that I run 4 toons on.
With 4 toons running, in WoS I've got almost 600MB free now, usually I near run out of memory.

I didnt see a response here about running macros while boxing on the same machine WITHOUT wineq. I still run old school everquest, just multiple instances... my computer is nothing special, amd 2400+, 1 gig 400mHz ram, radeon 9000 pro 128MB video card and a 7200 rpm hdd. I have no trouble boxing 2 toons and 3 is a little iffy but still not bad. About the macro's in background windows (if that was your question) they work just fine in standard eq interface without wineq.

I'll go ahead and confirm it...
With just vanilla EQLive + MacroQuest, you can run multiple instances if you have one or more sessions minimized. Mostly me and a couple RL friends have done 2 instances with P4 2.8GhZ + 512 ram + 256 vid card, options fairly low. With shit all the way off, 3. That said, you want to have low priority characters be the minimized. When I had the warrior (who was pulling for the expedition group) minimized, it didn't work out well at all - he ran too slugishly and got pwned. If you have a lower priority class like a wizard or necro let that be the minimized one, since it doesn't matter if they nuke a second or two after the macro is supposed to.
All that said, be prepared for LOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGGGG zone times and some CTDs while zoning. You probably want to make sure that your macros / macro management plugins are advanced enough to the point where you don't have to switch screens too much. Also, forget using your computer for anything besides EverQuest.

wineq2 with built in eqplaynice, /viewport down to almost nothing(who really cares what a bot healer sees anyways?) and bitsperpixel=8(not sure if that makes a difference anymore in your ini but I'm still using it) and a 4 year old computer with 64mb vid card and 2 256mb chips, I can run 4 eq sesions at once with 3 running macro's perfectly. RogueHelper, AFKnuker and RaidDruid. THe rogue is a tad slow on starting fights so I just increased the % to attack. Same with the druids heals so I again increased the % to heal. Haven't seen any issues with any of them while playing the tank. But yes, load times are horrible so don't die.

Tryed it last night and I have to say it kicks ass. I use a laptop that was only able to do one char that is now easily handling 2. Thanks for opening the path for me to box 6 chars easily on 2 old comps :)

/viewport makes a window of the defined size (in pixels) and places that window on the defined location.
I use it to avoid having chatboxes, buff boxes etc over the actual view.
So if you have a screenresolution of 1600x1280 and makes a 1200x800 window, you have black space around the window.
I think it's /viewport width, height, x, y
Using the above example you should get the window in the middle of your sceen with: /viewport 1200, 800, 200, 240
Edit:
Bah, I got the parameters all mixed up. Forget about them and follow the link in the posts after this one.
