2 ideas, invisible mobs, and vendor diving

Post by emmagine » Wed Dec 11, 2002 4:04 am

1st idea, have the client draw an purple box wherever invisible mobs are. Don't know enough about mq to know if this is possible or not.

2nd idea. Trade skillers commonly dive vendors for trade skill components. going to each vendor in a zone, opening the list, and looking for items you want can be tedious to say the least. I would like to see a macro , where you can

a) select an item from a list, and have the macro search every vendor in the zone for the item,
b) type in the item name or part of the item name and have the macro search every vendor in the zone for the item.

Even better, is if the macro could buy the items, and if you could set it to search for more than one thing.

would be extreemly usefull and time saving macro.

I apologize in advance for spelling erros or incorect punctuation.

Initial thoughs on mining vendors.

When you open a vendor we find out all he has so maybe an alert list type command for items would be an idea. In fact if it could be used for looting as well as vendors that would be cool too.

Since you would have to visit each vendor in the zone (unless you used an offset to avoid the distance problem) you would need to walk around them all. Pathing isnt difficult to do just time consuming. Once its done its done however so if a few people could do a zone or 2 each we could get it done in no time.

I think hacking the distance check so you can open a vendor from anywhere would not be a good idea in a public release of MQ as mass bannings and exploits would soon follow.

Maybe it wouldnt be too difficult to write a macro the record a walk path to the mqlog file. Ill have to look into that.
