Yes I'll help

You suck, go away.

Now search, use the wiki, and quit being a moron.

There is no official current release. Did you update everything yourself? (I'm guessing no, or you probably wouldn't be asking this question)

The latest zip at the time of this writing indicates that the program does not currently work (MQ2-Down.zip off main download page). However, assuming you used a pre-updated zip, and compiled it successfully, as I assume you have due to you actually reaching the incorrect client version error, your program was compiled to use the offsets and structures that are specific for the version of everquest that was in use before the April 12th patch. As the April 12 patch changed these offsets and structure addresses for Everquest, an updated version of MQ2 will be needed to run with the update.

As of this writing, there is no update. The developers have said, pretty much, that they won't hand you a new version because you can update it yourself if you take the time to learn how to update the source code. Unfortunately for the masses of freeloaders, thie HOWTOs and information for updating the code yourself has been moved to a VIP only area. It appears that speedy updates to get MQ2 working again after a patch are restricted to those who have donated to the developers AND who can update the code to the experimental offsets and structures that are usually quickly posted in the dev forum.

I have no problem with that stance; after all, the devs can dictate the policy as it's their software in the first place. There IS NO official working release that the devs are "hiding" in the VIP section; rather they restrict the developer area to those who have donated. I respect that it is their choice to make, and that complaining about it won't fix anything. In fact, complaining about the state of MQ2 will get you, at best, chastised and flamed, and at worst, banned.

Please remember that the developers, as I understand it, create this project because they want to, not because they are making big money off it .. I can guarantee you they aren't. Screaming at them to release an update won't "fix" anything .. in fact, it will only anger them and make them less likely to update it. So hang tight and wait. Do without your FREE program for a while, sheesh.

Cliff notes: Sony's EQ patch broke MQ2. Check the main page for updates but don't expect one till after the april 20 patch, which will most likely break it again. And don't complain about it not being available.

Edit: spelling, and revised some misleading info.
