New User: Is this possible?

Post by JamesBong » Wed Nov 20, 2002 5:53 am

Hi there, I'm a new user to MQ, have been playing around with it for a few days but am very impressed with it. I'm also pretty impressed with the qualtiy of the community here and your thoughts on cheesing/unattended macroing, pretty good stuff there. Anyway, to dispense with the garbage.

I've got some experience with Perl/C++ and other languages, but this scripting language seems to be a little non-robust to me, so I'd like to see if the experts can give me a yay/nay on whether these things would be possible or not. The motivation here is that I play a level 61 enchanter, and farming with a chanter is very tedious, and very annoying, albeit effective, but would be much more difficult to manage than for say a warrior.

Would it be possible to engage one mob and begin a casting/fighting macro, and then if another mob were to come within a certain distance put it's ID number in a queue or array or some such to perform individual actions on that mob? Specifically I am considering the situation of chain-stunning a given mob, and then if you get an add tash that mob and continue to stun and so on and so forth and maintaining that if there were several adds at one time?

Additionally is it possible to detect when a buff is fading or gone on the player? I imagine that that is an amatureish question but I spent some time reading the docs and don't recall seeing it.

That's all I can think of for the moment, but a yay/nay on both of those points would be a good starting point for me ;)

Salutations,
Maybe, but you'd end up doing a lot of timing and untargeting and stuff so... it may not be efficient...

as to buffs... i _believe_ there is a $buff(#,xxx) but i'm not quite sure...

It sould be much more effiecient, IMO , to use one of the Bots out there and PL a warrior to lv 35 or so, then farm with it. wouldnt even need much equipment beyond like full bronze, and maybe some +hp rings and an SSB. FS weapons would be fine as well =)
