Perl events.pl question

Is there any way of having events.pl NOT lose events while control is in other functions? ie, if the program is in foo(), and an event comes that would trigger bar(), it's never invoked.

my solution to this was to just set a flag in triggered events and deal with it in the main script. That way events dont last long enough for another one to fire.
