/say distance?

Post by Grumpy » Mon Oct 25, 2004 8:06 am

Anyone have a number on just how far the /say text from players (and more specifically, mobs) can be heard?

Would be useful in macros like "handin" where the handin mob spams you, to stop the macro if a PC wanders within hearing distance of the mob.

Yes, I searched, didn't see anything specifically addressing this.

I believe its about 50 feet, but feel free to test. If you can play 2 characters or find a friend who can hail a mob for you, it would be pretty easy to back just barely out of range and /echo ${Target.Distance}

Once you know that radius for sure (and maybe pad a few feet onto it) you can then check for (${SpawnCount[pc radius ${SayRange}]} > 1).
