I finally got MQ to work, but now I can not get macros to load it has an error in red text saying could not load. I haven't tried any personal scripts yet I'm just using the ones that come with MQ so it can't be anything wrong with the script. Am I loading wrong?
Also when you see /maco <filename> [parm] [Parm..]
what does the parm mean?
Oh, and do I ever need to use pearl to run scrpts because I have no clue

or is it only for making scripts? Thanks for the help hehe.

dont worry about perl.
/macro <name>
dont put a .mac at the end
so if you used the included Arrow mac it would be
/macro arrow
thats it!
Some require variables to be passed, but most dont..
the appropriate file must be in your macroquest/macros directory btw

Does it matter where MQ is unzipped, and the name of the folder? Currently mine is installed in my documents. And everytime I type /macro and say the file is <arrow> it says cannot open, it does that for every single script is my folder wrong or something?

Still won't work, but I got a new question. My offsets are the ones that come with 1105 and when I replace them with the newest version that's on the quick link they won't work. How do I replace offesets and know what to use? I I think I figured out that I have to put the EQ patch date but that's all I know

Try moving the macros from the /release/macros folder into the /release folder.

Ok the ini offsets that come with 905 will load up MQ when I get into the game but I can't load any macros. And the ini offsets on the quicklinks won't even work at all. I get into the game and MQ won't even load. Maybe I don't know how to install the offset right? Please explain the correct wat to install them.

go to the download page. click on the word here in the Beta section, download the latest one. unzip it and then look in the release folder. use that exe and the offsets in there. They should all work fine. If you do that then have more problems we will at least be sure of where you are starting from.

I have the latest version it's not working, I have the latest offsets that come with it. I'm not a complete noobie. I just want to know why macros won't load. Everytime I type /macro and then name of the macro I want to use it says cannot open , this is what my folder is, C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\IRC-latest\IRC-20021104\Release\Macros\fish.mac
Seeing how fish.mac is a macro that comes with MQ it should work. I have tried all of the macros that MQ comes with and I get that everytime.
I am running 905 with the offsets that it comes with.

Did you try what I suggested? I am using the latest version and it does NOT look for macros in \release\macro as in previous versions, it is looking for them in the /release folder. Copy the macros out of the /macro folder and move them up one directory into the /release folder. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure the error message you are getting is telling you as much - something like "could not open fish.mac in \*\*\release blah blah blah".
You can change the default settings by taking a look around in your files - it is not that hard, but if this is the problem you are having, just copy everything up that one directory and it should work.

are you running 0905 or 1104?
you say 0905 but your sample dir is C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\IRC-latest\IRC-20021104\Release\Macros\fish.mac

Well, stop asking so many questions and start reading the board a little, and reading all the macros already in your directory to see how they work. Get TextPad, load up the syntax file posted by Fippy, and start playing around. Post any macros you are having problems with in the Help section for macros, and people will be more than willing to help you out *once* you try a few things yourself.
