ok, i have the whole program up and running. and now a friend of mine gave me some plugins that he uses. i cannot get them to load. could it be that the plugins i got from him were only a .dll file and i need a folder like the other ones? or do i have to compile my new plugins in w/ the rest of mq2??

In thoery you friend should be able to compile a plugin, send you the DLL, and you drop it in and use it.

In practice, things seem to go a lot smoother if you compile your own, or at least if they're all compiled at the same time from the same source tree.

If your friend is using a different compiler than you, then chances are that's the problem. Just grab the .cpp files from the plugins you like and compile them yourself using the suprisingly easy How To Make a Plugin post in the plugins forum.
