I'm looking for Quillmane in South Karana and on a whim to see if there were any, superwho'd timer. There are 5. Any idea what they're for? I know the cool breeze is a timer for the cool breeze that blows but any idea on the others? or how I find out other than trial and error?

Quillmaine is triggered from a mob death in a time window.
I made the fabled qm spawn 3 times in a row from killing a certain mob at a certain time, once the fabled stopped i was unable to find it for the standard QM but i am certain it is still done that way i have just not found it yet.

I do believe this is the case. Back in the day when SK was a common hunting ground I had Quil spawn three times within a half hour or so. I wasn't the one spawning it, someone must have been camping the trigger. The trigger theory is the only one I can thing of that would explain what happened.

Or the fact that there were enough people there to kill the ph constantly and you got lucky with a series of rare spawns. Sometimes the random number generator works for you, sometimes against.

2 of those times i killed the Fabled QM i was only one in zone and unlike people ingame i can guarentee that :)

Mage Compendium has info on how to spawn Quillmane, but I can guarantee, if you kill every mob that wanders through the Paw spires and keep an eye on track, Quill will spawn for you.

Single spawn point with a random 6 or 7 mobs in the randomizer. is not any timer other then the 6 minute respawn for the spawn point.

Check that URL, 3 posts down. I did this last week in South Karana, and managed to spawn Quillmane 4 times in one hour. May not be the easiest thing to figure out, but once you have it down - it's a sure fire winner.
For this though, you need a Druid/Ranger or a macro/something that allows you to see spawns in the order they popped...

If you have found the placeholder for quill then you should know the loc is it not just a case of camping thqt loc and killing every mob that pop's ?

I use ShowEQ to get Quillmane. Used 2 chars, one with an AE spell, and another to pull/track (heh). First thing I did is sort the order of spawn list by spawn time. Then I pulled everything south of paw and north of aviak village. AE'd it. Since it respawned all at same time you can see in the SEQ list which mobs need to die again, repeat till you get any rare to pop whether it's undead cyclops, mroon(?), those wandering gnolls, etc. Once you get one (or more) rare pop, you can stop AE'ing and just pull any new mob that pops in the area described. That is your PH. It is a random loc spawn, but this method works flawlessly.

Fippy it's not really as simple as calling it a Placeholder I'm afraid - it's more like Quillmane is on a set of spawns... But ony 1 mob can be up at once... Let's see if this doesn't explain it better:
We have 5 (Just as example, refrence that post I linked for full info) Mobs that are on Quill's spawn...
MobA
MobB
MobC
MobD
MobE
Quillmane
Those mobs, can spawn in the following locations:
LocA
LocB
LocC
LocD
LocE
So, once you know 1 of the mobs on this random cycle, you don't need to AE the shit outta the zone, rather just kill the one mob, who could be..
MobA in LocA
MobA in LocB
MobA in LocC
.
.
.
Quillmane in LocE
Pretty simple really if you track by spawn times... Now all you gotta do is find 1 spawn on that cycle - and as that post I linked says - Just wait for the Lioness to run north right over the Paw entrance.
Took me maybe 15 minutes to figure out which mob it was talking about, but once I did it's easy as shit to get Quill to pop.

Thanks guys.

Will try the thread. My bud that had the cloak hasn't been on in a while and I finally got my crown. Off to find the cloak for myself as it's the last needed thing. I know nothing about SEQ but might have to look more into it.
