Guide visits

Post by lupinus » Wed Oct 09, 2002 11:40 am

I followed a couple guides around today and noticed that they were stopping at certain vendors. Are they doing checks on certain vendors or what?

NOt sure how old this is as i just clicked on "view unanswered thingies"

But I used to be a guide annd well..quite frankly...i just went to vendors to see what they'd say lol..guiding == lots of boredom.

Im sure it wasnt what you think it was. That or someone told them certain vendors werent working properly and they were checking to fix it :)

All the same its probably nothing to worry bout.

LOL

Actually it was fun for about 2 or 3 weeks (no limits on where u can go except certain dungeons) so was great to find out all the best exp spots and whatnot.

But once you found that out..it was sit..click the pet queue answer some anal ornary player..tell them off as nice as possible, move on to the next etc etc lol..you cant attack mobs..you cant talk to NPC's...you cant do anything that would otherwise make the player happy.

You cant amuse them either..if you are caught having fun, you get in trouble.

Funny as it sounds, its true

But then again.>I was one of the first guides on my server when the guide program originally came out..mebbe they are better now.

What happened to me was..i ended up taking corpses in a zone and pulling all of them to the zone (while invis) and making a large symbol representing a certain thing..

Anyway, dont wanna get too detailed, cuz anyone from days of old on my server would remember lol.

Anyway..after that (i was /guide invis the whole time)..I announced in OOC that Innoruuk was going to curse all who dared defile these lands and stuff and started harassing the players a little...

In the end I got suspended indefinitely..but i had about 100 players write a petition against it..(cuz i was the only fun guide on the server) but it inevitably didnt do any good :P

I was also voted #1 loved Guide on the server..too bad the voting had taken place a month after I was gone (apparently nobody realized i had been fired lolol and thought i was just AWOL)

So anyway, I came back months later as a player char under the same name ..it was funny when everyone in the server starts asking me where i was and noticing im a level 1 newb

*sighs*

the good ol' days

Draekz,
Sounds to me like you had it all... All the boredom that is.
But atleast you didn't have to pay to be bored like so many of the players do now. Just look at the responses posted here.. so bored with EQ that all they want to do is make macros. /sigh.

I applied for the guide thing a year ago. rejected. /shrug. Guess my answers were too amusing too. I'm just not plain vanilla enough for VI i guess.

Anyway, glad to have you among the crowd. Careful your not banned from EQ now if you macro.

peace.
My perception is my reality.
