Hide NPC Names Not working

Post by Sdksnowboy » Wed Aug 18, 2004 1:04 pm

I am unable to hide standard npc names or pet names while running MQ.
(Yes I've tried turning it off in the options and no shownames off only works for PCs)

it may have something to do with MQ2HUD. Try unloading that.

Who said anything about reloading it?

Honestly, I haven't a clue. Don't know what to tell you.

Have you tried opening your MacroQuest.ini file and finding the default.

Code: Select all

NPC=${If[${NamingSpawn.Mark},${NamingSpawn.Mark} - ,]}${If[${NamingSpawn.Assist},>> ,]}${NamingSpawn.DisplayName}${If[${NamingSpawn.Assist}, - ${NamingSpawn.PctHPs}%<<,]}${If[${NamingSpawn.Surname.Length},\n(${NamingSpawn.Surname}),]}
Corpse=${NamingSpawn.DisplayName}'s corpse
Pet=${If[${NamingSpawn.Mark},${NamingSpawn.Mark} - ,]}${If[${NamingSpawn.Assist},>> ,]}${NamingSpawn.DisplayName}${If[${NamingSpawn.Assist}, - ${NamingSpawn.PctHPs}%<<,]}${If[${NamingSpawn.Master.Type.Equal[PC]},\n(${NamingSpawn.Master}),]}
And changing it to

Code: Select all

NPC=
Corpse=
Pet=
and seeing what it does?

Doesn't do anything dman.

I'm having the same problem. I can't get the npc names to turn off. No matter what I do. I'm still trying to figure this out myself though.

Ok, I know I ran into this problem once, can't remember what I did to deal with it or if I just gave up. I know I messed with that though in my testing so threw it out.

I think once you have custom stuff on their it won't change until you zone, but I haven't tried myself. Could it be they made it so only the players names can change normally (since you can chance from showing everything to just their first names) ?
