a few of the fields had info in them b ut i removed it fo rthe purpose o fposting here cause i figured maybe it was possible to track me, esp considerign the name of the file
Th elien that worries me the most is Window, think it could be something to sniff out EQw?

i wouldn't believe that...if they wanted to trace you, i'm sure they could use more discreat(sp?) ways of doing it. Just a thought

It's common practice to spit out log files from your application, game, or utility.

Ive not seen this file - considering the data its catching, I would be concerned about this if it was on my harddrive, especially when others dont have it - it might not be a Verant file...

I also have the file, my timestamp on it is 7/19/01. So I figure they have known about me for a while or the file is not for spying).

Or you've been hit by some kind of EQ trojan. ;)

The reason why i ask is:

There are a lot of rumors of .. let's say "a vulnerability" within EQW. Others might call it a backdoor. Probably has nothing to do with that trace.txt file, but in the last couple of weeks some accounts have been hacked in my guild and we're kinda .. looking for a clue how.

Something like EQW = the EQtrojan? Dunno, i don't hope so.

Sorry for discussing that off-topic stuff on this board, but it did fit so well

The Reason I ask about Xylobot is becuase of this statement in the changelog (linked above)
 • Auto trimming of trace.txt file if > 1 MB
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda

i use EQw, but not xylo
when i checked its properties it showed a few days ago as the created date, which also happens to be when i reformatted my hard drive, so that dosent really help.

Would be interesting to find out what it is from though...
