Hello all - Im Back!!!

Post by gingertips » Wed Aug 18, 2004 3:57 pm

Hi all,

havent been around for a long long time. But split up from my wife about a month ago (she was doing the dirty on me - sniff)

spent couple of hours yesterday looking at sonys site with interest in EQ2 & guess i got the EQ bug again!!!

It shows i havent played for long time - the patchin took good couple of hours earlier today!!!

anwyay, looks like i got shit loads of reading up to do on EQ and MQ, so if any kind person feels like summarising how things are going at the moment, I would be most appreciative!

Hopefully wont be too long before I can start to make a useful contribution to this cracking forum again!

Cheers

WB.

Don't know what to tell you.

How about you start with the basics of what era of EQ you left during and what you have heard so far about what is going on now?

I'm very "talkative" just look at my post count. I even reply to myself when I am trying to figure things out. It helps, really it does! LOL.

If I can answer your questions and fill in the blanks I'll be happy to.

Yes. Always good to learn a game before you "Mod" it per say ;)
In this case we're not changing anything in EQ, but you get what I mean (hopefully)

Great idea. There's plenty of people who haven't stopped playing who can't tell the difference between what's displayed by EQ and what's done by MQ. Nothing beats the time I logged in after a patch and someone in /gu was like "woah! They changed the mob's name to match it's con color". Muppet.

feel free to send me a tell with what era you quit during, and I'll tell you what you missed out on.

LOL thats cracks me up.

I only came back to EQ a month ago after 18 months trying to enjoy SWG. It took me a week or too to before I got the flow back. Weird thing was I started doing things automatically like hitting u to open a door and after a few times I though 'oh yeah you can open a door by hitting u' Must have got it so ingraned in my mush of a brain that once I started playing again my brain switched back into auto eq mode.

you hit 'u' to open a door? I always clicked on it.. never knew 'u' would do that for you.

'u' is for USE. It will work on anything that is 'usable' in the center of your screen. This includes doors, switches, and pok stones. Not sure what else.
