/echo ${Me.Casting}
[MQ] Selo`s Song of Travel
/echo ${Me.Casting.Skill}
[MQ] Percussion Instruments
/echo ${Spell[${Me.Casting}].Skill}
[MQ] Alteration
I'd fix this myself, as it seems fairly obvious what's going on, but my C++ is shit and touching the data structs scares the hell out of me. :)
I have a script that makes fairly heavy use of this (finding the skills for songs not currently being played), so if nobody posts anything in a day or so I'll play with it myself.
edit: hrm, perhaps not so obvious, as I just tested 20 songs at random and this is the only one doing it

seems like the Spell Type is not correctly working atm..
Me.Casting, Me.Casting.ID and so all return NULL even when right in a cast
- would rock if you could tell us how to fix this .. i use that in alot macros

Yes, it is not working. This was a quick fix to help some, but not necessarily all get their mq2 fix. If you thought this release was fully functional, think again. Besides, there are sure to be other patches in the next few days.
For now, don't worry, be happy, it's working to an extent at least.

Not sure why you're dogpiling on my post, as this was a bug I found before the 8-11 patches. I thought indeed it might be a case of the type being set wrong, but if so it seems to be specific to this one song (odd).
I'll fiddle with it more after MQ is fairly stable again and we're all sure the structs are right.

Dunno Cr4zy, he just did, and I posted that others have already complained of the same thing reguarding yesterdays patch and the new download. Hope it is fixed soon.

Me.Casting and various spell structs seem to be working again (as advertised) in the 8-12, 03:29:08 zip.
I'm still getting this odd behavior with this one spell, but only if I create a spell struct..Me.Casting.Skill works fine. Anybody have any ideas? Problem in the database?

If it is a problem in the spell database, you'd have to get SOE to fix it. The spell info is directly read from what is available and in memory on the client. Why the one song doesn't work right I'm not sure once my bard is high enough lvl to cast it I'll look into it hehe.

Found it. The way you are getting the info and then searching for it is what is pulling up the wrong info. ${Me.Casting} returns the name of the spell, and then you plug the name into ${Spell[].Skill} object. Well when it searches the data in memory it finds the first match, which happens to be a Selo's that was created for a bard item. In most cases songs added to items have duplicate entries which change the song into a normal spell in the spell files to make starting/stopping the itemcast easier for bards.

ID's make the world go round. I try to write all my macroes to avoid direct names as they can and do lead to things like this.

I am as yet ignorant of whether or not it is working as intended. Haven't logged in yet today and tried it out. Even then, lately I've been running a BL with combat plugin and manually casting slow and dots.
I would like to say thanks to you Amadeus for your hard work.
