Hijacked by Plazmic: "/target noalert #" to change

Hello all,

I'm trying to target the nearest pc which doesn't match a certain set of names, but I'm not having much luck. I'm doing basically:

/alert add 1 pc joe
/alert add 1 pc bob

/target pc noalert 1

The target doesn't work. It prints a message like there are no " nearby. But if I do:

/target pc alert 1

Then the alert works. It will select joe or bob even if they aren't the closest mob. So am I using noalert wrong? Or does anyone have any thoughts on how to select the closest pc not matching a list of names?

I was trying something similar to that the other day. Having the same problem you are.

/target noalert # is currently implemented as "target something that doesn't have an spawn on alert list # valid at it's location"
ie:
/alert add 1 npc radius 200 "hill giant"
/target pc noalert 1

This will target any pc that is not within 200 units of a hill giant...

In the next version things will be changed.
/target alert #: target a spawn matching alert list #
/target noalert #: target a spawn not matching alert list # (what everyone thinks it does now)
/target nearalert #: target a spawn that is "near" a spawn on alert list #
/target notnearalert #: target a spawn that is not "near" a spawn on alert list # (the current noalert #)

This will break some backwards compatibility, but just do a search and replace on noalert -> notnearalert

I have so badly been aching for the Alert change. Im very pleased you have either found a personal use for it, or have gotten messages for that very request.
