A way for me to help?

Hello all as you can tell I am new to here and I was trying to think of a way I can contribute. I will be the first to tell you I have no clue how to code so I thought to myself how can I help. Well it came to me one day while I was playing. I noticed that Macroquest description for the spell “Shock of Poison” was decrease hit points by 74 (L24) to 161 (L29) but Everquests states strikes your target with a jet of poison, causing between 107 and 160 damage. So first thin I see is a difference so I thought I would test out the spell. Well my level 24 necromancer hit for 146 with no gear on. Did this to make sure my gear did not affect the outcome. Since I do not consider this a bug, I did not post in the bug forum. So here is my proposal would the developers like me to go through the spells I have so far and see what the difference is. If not I will think of something new to try to help.

Uh, MQ doesn't have spell descriptions built in. Any data that is displayed comes from the server or the eq client. It's possible that we are interpreting the data wrong, but I tend to doubt it.

I thought I was going insane so I checked again. I have a screenshot of what I am referring. Of course, I do not see a way to upload it. Do you know of any free hosting sites unless you do not mind and I will email it to you?

Based on Lucy's description (L24 gets the spell, starts at 146 damage), I'd think your screenshot isn't necessary.

I played a necro once upon a time, and 146 sounds right for the level 24 DD of that spell. I remember frying birds in Lake Rathe with it (back before a place called Kunark was even known).

I think what The_Cuban is saying is that MQ says the spell does 74 - 161 instead of 146 - 160. That is, what MQ says doesn't match Lucy.

I like to say I appreciate all the hard work, which the developers and the community have put into this project. Thank you. I would love to donate to the cause but I am currently in a bad time in life. The company I work for SBC is not giving us union members a fair contract so starting tomorrow we will be on a four day strike. I hope this will wake up upper management so we can put this behind us. Again, when everything clears up I will donate but for now, I need to be careful with my money.
