I am still relatively new to the whole EQ and MQ thing, but riddle me this:
If you are in a group with people you don't know, and the tank's incoming message says something like:
"Incoming: A Level 54 Shadowknight Polesmoker. Make it call you daddy!!1"
It is fairly easy to ascertain that said tank is an mq2 user, and a broadcasting mq2 user at that - no?
What would an appropriate Lax-type response to aforementioned situation be?

Well, if he was level 54 or two levels below, it could be off of /con
or he may know the zone well enough to know that such and such mob is level 54. He may also have been harmtouched on the way in for a certain amount.
EDIT: hit post too fast...
Otherwise, /report soandso, /petition soandso knew the level and class of a mob. How'd he know that? Are there new % variables now? I think he may be using some sort of cheat program. I filed a report as /report soandso.

Don't be a dickhead like magictiger.
A quick tell "How do you know it is level 54?" will do....

i'd report and petition. those that are stupid enough to make it public knowledge should have repercussions. RARELY do they ban accounts permanently on the first offence, usually a few day ban.

Never involve GMs it's just compounding the stupidity, just send the guy a tell telling him he's being a stupid smurf hut builder.
We police our own, not involve the gestapo.

Another reason to not involve sony over MQ stupidity... the more sony has MQ put in their face, the more likely they are to take active steps against it. This has been proven time and again, with both MQ and ShowEQ.
Bottom line is sony won't care if their awareness is low, they have more important fish to fry. By petitioning someone for using MQ, you help to raise their awareness.

The only reason you should say something like "get gm's involved" again is so that ap50 posts and I get to /drool on those boobs.
