If you really where concerned with people just copy/pasting your macro you could have simply put in /endmacro lines. I find your ethics incredably tacky.

Thanks

Thanks for keeping my macro at the very top of the macroquest depot ... no really thank you all :D i couldnt have done it without you .. and that wasnt even my goal

while im here .. let me refresh the reason im at the top for those who dont like to read long posts and skip to last pages.

you need to change 4 "EVIL" lines that i included with the PLbot.mac because i felt like sticking em in.

1) change

Code: Select all

/join macroquest

to your OWN channel

2) change

Code: Select all

/afk IM a macroquest user, REPORT ME! im careless and dont change my macro's!

to your OWN afk message

and finnaly 3) (this is the hard one)

Code: Select all

| do i have to point it out? you know what to do here.
/shout im a macroquest user!
/ooc quick petition me im careless!

you need to change that ( psst i not gonna tell you what to do with it .. your gonna have to think there on your own! )

ohh and i forgot to mention .. the hardest part of all .. is that their ALL TOGETHER! so your NEVER GONNA FIND THEM!

Code: Select all

Sub Main

Code: Select all

| -----------------------------
| PLEASE CHANGE THIS TO YOUR OWN CHANNEL!
| -----------------------------
/join macroquest
| -----------------------------
|
| this is your AFK message --- change it ---
/afk IM a macroquest user, REPORT ME! im careless and dont change my macro's!
| -----------------------------

/delay 1s
/1 ok ready to PL
:Mainloop
/call Checkhealth
/call Checkmana

| do i have to point it out? you know what to do here.
/shout im a macroquest user!
/ooc quick petition me im careless!
|
| -----------------------------

oops i forgot to meniton i put BIG BRIGHT COMMENT lines around em (silly me) soo ..

remember kids .. run this first and THEN go back and add "/petition report me im a MQ user" under the /ooc .. then you must stand up touch your toes 7 times jump up and down 3 times spin 4 times and run around the corn field another 6 tiems... then this macro will work for you!.

else i suggest you buy

I blame bad parenting.

If it weren’t for the daily beatings that I received as a child, teenager, and young adult, I wouldn’t be the bitterly disciplined person that I am today.

my two cents

Reminds me of my former step-ma....

here is a scnario... imagine her driving down a road in the right lane... there is a car in the left lane going over the speed limit... My stepma would speed up just to get in front of that person and then slow down to make them obey speed limit. I guess she thought she could take the law into her own hands.

My point is, some-eq-player, its really not your place to be enforcing good macroing habits, and, unless i have the wrong impression, this board is not for that use.

I do appreciate your work on this macro, in fact I use a modified version of it. The fact that you put in those lines is an insult to me (and i'm sure i'm not the only one).. Its like telling me i'm not smart enough to read and follow the comment header in reguards to changing things that could possibly be detected.

Normally, if somone doesn't change the macro, then thats their own problem and may or may not suffer concequences. This is not true with your macro. If a person doesn't change it, they have much more of a chance of getting in trouble, again that is their own fault but in a way you helped get them in trouble.

Hope that was all understandable...

p.s. thats just my views on the situation and i'm not telling you that you are right or wrong in what you did.

makes perfect sence. it doesnt need the shout and ooc .. since the afk and channel are enough! :D

While I can appreciate the evil sense of humor and all, I think first priority should be the good of this community. There is a reason why megawarp isnt posted for everyone, a reason why no binaries are distributed, and a reason why not to call any unnecessary attention to the MQ community.

I think it does say something positive about this forum, that even though your views might not be shared by a lot of people, your post remains up, and nobody has deleted it or edited it for ya.

Thanks for the macro anyway.

Just started using MQ2 and found this particular macro. It was precisely what I wanted, and was essentially the reason I acquired MQ2 in the first place. The rub is that I can't get it to work. It starts and moves along okay, and I can even get a buff off once. Then I get a coupla errors and it ends.

Error message is:

Ending macro: Flow ran into another subroutine
PLbot.mac@342 (Event_SLAINBY):Sub_Event SLAINBY
PLBot.mac@104 (Main):}

And then it ends. I figure this is an older macro, and thus not up to current standards/structures. What should I do to modify it to make it run under current set-up? Should I just try taking an axe to the SLAINBY subroutine?

...

Yeah. Kind of what I meant when I said, "I figure this is an older macro, and thus not up to current standards/structures", and then followed it immediately with "What should I do to modify it to make it run under current set-up?"

Like I said, the macro sort of works, it just fails at to coninue to function due to flow, and I honestly am too clueless to be able to really grok the difference between mq2data compliant and older stuff (aside from the date on original post and the fact that it ain't working).
