Hi there,
can anybody tell me why I am going that often LD while macroing.
It happens quite often so that I cannot make my char work over night.
The macro is ok, but these LDs.....
The strange thing is that when I normally play I never have LDs.
Can anybody tell me why this happens?

never had that problem m8! check the logs - when does it go LD?
Could be your ISP - do they disconnect at regular intervals? Run the macro while youre around - does it have any problems? or just leave your account on overnight WITHOUT running any macros - does it still go LD??? If so you know it is definitely not MQ.

I'm also having problems. I've got 2 computers I run.. an athlon 1600 and a Celeron 550. Both are also running XP.
At first when I started toying with MQ, I could run on either PC. I was able to run on my slower PC just fine... all night or whatever.. NO issues. My fast pc would have the Macro hang often.. maybe because it is too fast.
Anyway.. now I cannot run MQ on my slow PC for more than 15 or so mins.. I will either get booted straight to the desktop, with eqgame.exe still running as a process... OR I will get booted from the game but it will look like I am still there. I will regain control of the mouse cursor that is usually frozen. This requires a reboot everytime.
Any idea why I was able to run MQ on the PC and now I cannot? DOes MQ run better on 98 or win2k?
I'm VERY frusterated and if anybody knows of any solutions I'd appreciate them greatly.
Btw.. I just reformatted my HD and have a fresh install of XP on the slower PC.

Oh yes, GREAT reply! .. NOT
So by not running my macros all night, how exactly will that help me?
Had you read my post, you would have noticed that I said that I go LD after 15mins everytime I run a macro. I merely stated as a point of reference that I previously could run macros all night if I wished. I run attended.. I have too much time into my characters to lose them over a macro.
Might anybody ELSE have some constructive insight into why a PC with a FRESH install of XP and new install of MQ do this? When I first installed XP, I was able to run the macro (ATTENDED) for several hours.. with a couple typical hang-ups. Then the LD issues hit me.. Now I go LD every time, without exception. The game seems to freeze and I either have the PC lock with the EQ screen still there..or it goes to the desktop, with NO usual LD message.
A little more info:
celeron 550
Video: Geforce2 MX400, 3.82 drivers
Copied my EQ directory from one PC to this one (possible issue?)
Fresh install of XP
Fresh install of EQM
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Salutations,
make sure your macro isn't using a /quit command? dunno... haven't had this problem. If you aren't getting the 'Disconnected' stuff i'd think that it is either eq crappin' out, or some new verant check that you only have for some reason... or an invalid pointer/code bug... turn debug spew on and paste the last 15 lines or so of debugspew.log after its gone LD...

look for the following line in your macro and delete it
that shoud do it...

heh I couldn't help myself... Seriously though, are you using the OldUI or the NewUI? Are you using one of those Linksys (or other brand) Broadband routers?

Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll check out the macro again when I get home and see what I can discover and post the debug results.
I'm wondering if the issue is because I have copied EQ over the network and didn't do a install.

I've got 3 copies of EQ on my pc copied from one install and usually everything works great, sometimes I do develop issues with one of the copies that doesn't affect the others. I usually just backup my ini files/skins/whatnot and then delete the buggy one and paste over a new copy.
Does EQ work alone without MQ running for very long? I've been playing EQ from copy/pasted folders for a while and went through a similar problem, one version was going LD or freezing while the other was fine. You can also try doing a thorough file check when you run the patcher, it might point out a corrupt file if there is one.

Since you are able to run EQ fine without MQ running with it, it points towards an error in either your macros or one of the other elements betwixt MQ and EQ:
1) Are you using the NewUI?
if so, don't, switch to the OldUI and your problem will be fixed.
2) Does this happen with ALL macros, or only certain ones?
if only certain macros, then try getting new copies/re-writing them.
if ALL macros, make sure you have the newest version of MQ AND
that you have the current offsets (VERY important).
And as far as my first comment, you have to understand how your post sounded when you mentioned running macros unattended.

Thanks all for the help once again..
I do run the Old UI.. I also verfied that I have no /quit statements in my macro code.
I'm currently running only one macro, so I'm not sure about the stability with others. I might have to check that.
What I did do was get a new set of EQ CDs and reinstall EQ from scratch (while saving my old EQ dir). This seemed to make a WORLD of difference for me. In several hours of sitting there and watching my macro, I went LD like last time ONE time.. not every 10 mins as before.
I'm not sure if I had corrupt EQ files or what.. but it works pretty well now.. Thanks!!!

Datarate maybe?
Im not sure if it helps, but during raid situations i was going LD every 30 minutes or whenever we started fighting something like AOW with 50+ peeps in the area. Datarate set to 9 solved that problem. Using a # turbo macro might be sending as much data across the connection to warrent changing the datarate.
Just an idea.
