EQ has encountered a problem and need to close..

Hi all,

First.. thanks for a great site and a great tool - must admit that im new to MQ2, only used other nice programs as showeq and mySEQ.

I had no problem in ( following all the guides ) and compiling MQ2 and MQ2 runs (in the task bar at least) when i click it.

I made sure that i had the new offsets in "eqgame.h" (from 25/3)

If i start EQ without MQ2 it runs smooth and everyone is eating cake..

BUT.. if I start MQ2, and then start EQ it come with an error when I try to pass the server selection screen.

"EQ has encountered a problem and need to close.."
click ok og debug..

If i run the debug it shows me the error line..

10003E93   mov         edx,dword ptr [eax]

To test if I fucked up (i know i did but where) I tried the same on my laptop.

but.. same error..

so... (flame time) what did i do wrong?

setup
windows xp - eq with all expantions - 1G mem

Ok, first off you dont need to make sure you have the newest offsets if you download off the download page. They're already there. Secondly, I almost have to assume you used anon CVS because you put it like that, so I would say never do that because anon CVS is 24 hours behind dev cvs. Just get the zip.

Secondly, theres guidelines in the bug report forum for reporting crash bugs. Theres no way in hell i can help you just by knowing "10003E93 mov edx,dword ptr [eax]".. that gives me nothing, because you compile it yourself so it's not guaranteed to match addresses in my copy of MQ2. I would most definitely need to know the actual source line rather than the disassembly.

Mostly just go download the zip and compile it. I'm assuming you used cvs and that was the problem, or tried to put the newest offsets in an older mq2

Are you using EQW?
Else,, download again,, recompile,, run.

EQW works fine w/ MQ2.

This is not an MQ issue. I get the same error quite often without having it loaded. Usually happens when i try to tab out to desktop to do something.

Ok.. its working now.. tried it on a 3. computer and its working.. for some reason it would not work on the 2 other PC´s.

I reinstalled my laptop and Bingo.. its working there as well..
