Well needed to raise begging for that new GoD quest, Breakdown in Communications or whatnot so....
move away from your target or select something else to stop this macro.
Code: Select all
===========
03.26.04a

begup.mac
by m0nk
___________
#event BegFail "You must target someone to beg from first"
#event BegFail "You are too far away to beg"
Sub Main
:begLoop
/doevents
/if n $char(ability,"Begging")>0 /doability begging
/goto :begLoop
/end
Sub event_BegFail
/echo You must have a target and be close enough to beg.
/echo -BYE
/end
Yes i know you can make 5 copper per hour or so begging but thats irrelevant so dont complain that this is a money maker 8*)

Do NPCs still randomly slaughter you if you piss them off begging?
*lol*
Begging from boats and my pet got me to 200 in my pre-MQ days.

Yes, NPCs will still attack you. And if you leave it AFK, even a greenie can kill you (thinking class without riposte and whatnot.)
Be careful grasshoppah.

beg still goes up in nexus / bazaar / pok
npcs wont attack you there, you can even practice intimidate skills safely =)
happy macroing
(ps - dont do intimidate afk, you actually look like your doing something and that is suspicious)

Am I a complete dumbass, or does begging just go up super slow? I tried begging from some out of the way NPC in PoK for like an hour, and did not get a single skill gain. I have 0 begging, and was begging from a non merchant, even con NPC. I did not successfully beg from the NPC even once, I am unsure if there is a particular NPC I should beg from?
Any advice?

Begging takes FOREVER to go up.
I worked on it for months, begging from boats and my pet, before I got into using MQ/MQ2.
With my skill now at 200, I still have NEVER gotten anything from using it.

I think begging is one of those skills you need atleast "1" point in to actually raise it (like taunt etc)

Should we maybe merge the two begging skillup macro threads?
Other than safety code, they are essentially the same, although to be honest I do like this one best :)

Not a bad idea, but won't really matter for much longer.
Hopfully they will archive these forums and re-create the macro depot and snippits areas for the new EQ2Data stuff....to keep the new seperate from the old.

This one wouldn't break I don't think, or at least I'm not seeing how it would break given what I understand about the way things are going to work.
Anyways, will they be seperating out the ones that will break, from the ones that won't? Or will they just archive this, and move on with life.

my understanding is all macros written with the scripting language (mq#) will definatley not work when all the changes are done.
Somewhat silly to continue to work on any macros in mq# since the parsing of all those paramaters is going to be removed when all is said and done.
IMO time is better spent converting or rewritting whatever macros you currently use into the new parm system and going from there rather then spending that time working on a mq# mac
current mq2 can parse the new obj parms right?

From what Lax posted, yes, it can. You just need to include "a specific type of #define", but what exatcly that is, he hasn't posted. /ponder
I'd like to know what it is so I can get to work, if anyone knows it. lol
