Map Crash (w/ March 12 zip)

Post by anOrcPawn00 » Sat Mar 13, 2004 12:46 pm

Ocassionally having CTDs when i open the map (only when I press hotkey and before the window is drawn), but only on my cleric. Yes, using a clean, latest-zip build. Same build works fine on other characters I've logged in. Crashes don't happen always, about 1 in 10-15 openings of the map. It's a CTD to desktop without any windows error pop-up showing.

Not on a mount when these happened.
Happened in Burning Woods, South Ro, instanced Deeperst Guk.
Had all map options on (NPC, PC, corpse, etc..)
No map-related plugins / scripts beside mq2map.

If you could possibly attach a debugger that would help.

Hi, I wanted to confirm this bug.

MQ2 works very well with all the functionalities except for the MQ2MAP plug in. If I have MQ2MAP loaded I have a very very high % of crashing upon zoning/logging in (maybe 70% crashes). EverQuest just crashes without a message to the desktop when the character zones or first loads a zone.

A note - if I load MQ2MAP while in a zone, the game will play fine, until I zone, when I do zone I will crash however.

Second, 'evac' does NOT seem to crash even with MQ2MAP zoned, but it could have been a small sample space, it seems that 'changing' zone with mq2map crashes me.

Thanks a lot Lax for looking into it :)

There's no way in hell I can look into it if a) it doesnt happen to me or b) I dont get debug info ;)
