Just installed, yet not working

Post by lolysrus2 » Thu Mar 04, 2004 6:55 am

Unzipped into a new folder, created the folders like http://macroquest2.com/main.php?p=manual says, I run the MacroQuest2 application, and get a message that says:

MacroQuest2.exe - Unable to Locate Component

This application has failed to start because MQ2Main.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Have also tried running MQ2Auth.exe and doing everything the posts etc say, but it brings up a dos window real quick that closes before I can even read anything on it. I also tried unzipping it again, but that didn't work either.

What am I doing wrong?

You're forgetting the part about compiling.

Step 1: http://macroquest2.com/main.php?p=download
Read big bold red words.. right above the part that says "DO NOT DOWNLOAD WITHOUT READING THE ABOVE LINK. IF YOU DO NOT READ, YOU FORFEIT YOUR PRIVELEDGE OF FREE SUPPORT."

Oh wait.. I guess you forfeited free support. sorry.

Not a good Start you have one post and HAve Lax after you all ready. There is a post somewhere on this site ( not going to tell you where if you couldn't get past the second line of TFM --- Compiling MacroQuest 2 --- you probably wont know how to use this link )

Search is your friend. When you do finaly Compile it and It gives you errors, try Searching for the answer first.

Sorry if I steped on some of your toes with this post. Know I haven't been here long, But DAMN Do they realy think we believe they RTFM when they post these typs of questions. How do some of you Old timers put up with it

Usually I just wait for someone else to jump them first NewB :) It's always nice when someone, ANYONE deals with these idiots so I don't have to.
