punishments for macroing?

Post by gnomegod » Thu Feb 26, 2004 3:09 pm

macros that are farming plat are getting people banned right away from what i hear. Is that because some of them use warping?(they are hex editing).

My 2 box hunting macro works well, and doesnt look like a macro, but lets assume that someone figures me out and petitions me. Will i get banned for it? or just warned?

If you've never been caught before you'll either get warned or suspended, depending on the mood of the GM. If you've already got soulmarks on your account, say goodbye to it.

I really, REALLY hate questions like this. The answer is so simple and it's been posted on this message board a thousand times and it's included in the documentation:

MQ CAN GET YOU BANNED! DO NOT USE IT UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE THIS RISK!

No one here gives a shit about what "might" be more dangerous than something else, etc..etc... Either you use it and take the chances, or you don't use it and don't take the chance of being banned.

There is no middle ground here. If you get caught, you're toast. If you don't get caught, you'll be fine. 99% of what MQ does is against the rules, so there you have it. If SOE *really* wanted to catch you, they could very easily....so, it's your ass, and please don't come back asking us what "might" get you banned or other silly such questions.

I can't belive this post didn't get locked yet. hehe

If people think they can warp and not get banned they're stupid. Macroing plat is also another great way to get banned as the patterns are very noticable.

Like you, I use a macro to help play a second account. I'm sure the first time I get caught I'll get banned, but then I can go back to a normal life.

Wait ... you mean ... MQ can get you banned? OMFG!

The only thing more surprising than that is that someone has a life that doesn't include EQ! How the hell is that possible?

Sorry ... Needed to get a cheese.mac style post +1 in while the thread was open.
