MQ2Auth error

Post by sovietax » Tue Feb 24, 2004 1:59 am

i downloaded the latest version today and followed the step by step process in the forums, i hit mq2auth.exe on my comp....send it to comp hat compiles it. when it gets there i hit the mq2auth.exe file on that comp then proceed to compile it. it finishes no errors no skips. i send it back to my comp and it says its not authorized to run on my comp. was the auth changed or something? ive used the search to see if anyone else has found a solution to this but i didnt find anything. thank you in advance......

Em..

You run the program on YOUR computer. Send it, compile it, send it back.

You don't run it on THAT computer, too. You only need to run it on yours.

Read the instructions again. ;-)

Then the post is wrong, or misworded.

You only run the MQ2auth program on the one you want it compiled for.

It doesn't matter if you run it again on your compiling computer.

I have 3 computers at home I use MQ on, and my development computer. Run Auth on all 4, and MQ works on all 4.

Delete all your old mq2auth files. Then run mq2auth on every computer. You'll end up with ONE file. Put that file in the mq2main directory on the computer you will use to compile and build the solution. You should now be able to move the generated binaries to your gaming machine and everything will work.

Does he only send MQ2Auth.exe or the header file?
Not sending the header file back would, umm, sorta explain why it's not working =)

/me bangs his head on the wall.

That was the point I was trying to make.. That if he ran it and didn't send it, and then he ran it on the other computer.. It would compile MQ2 for the OTHER computer.. not the one he was trying to compile for.

Am I speaking french?

[edit] DL it on MQ2 on ur comp, use MQ2Auth, send it to compiling computer, hit MQ2Auth, compile, send back, use. Thats how i do it and it comes out perfect everytime.

Nah, you just weren't being very clear. If you were speaking French I'd have changed your title again....
