Mob Spawn w/ Email Possible?

Post by HaCK » Sat Feb 21, 2004 12:07 am

This is what I want, tell me if it's possible. Say it's possible and I'll move this from Request to "Help" and work on getting to to function.

I have a Monk, FD in a zone. Use the exsisting Mob Spawn alert system (which I think beeps a bunch of times) but instead of beeping I want it to email me (honestly, email a subject line with "XXX Mob Spawned at XX:XX" sent to my pager). this possible or would I need to have both a macro & email plugin created?

Can think of 2 ways to do this:

1. When mob spawns, do /exec emailprogram bg, but have command line parameters in there to send the email. No idea if this is even possible

2. Have a plugin to do email like you mentioned

I cannot recall who off the top of my head, but someone had mentioned they had done this using SMS to their cellphone already.

You might try a ::Search:: and send a PM to that person. Although, I'd be interested to see how it's done, just to know.

I'm thinking another possibility would be to /exec a script/batch file/etc that sends the message via internet to your pager.

I'm thinking a more universal plugin would be ideal, whoever. See if you can find who did that already, and what their methods were.

I can see it now...

FD'd monk triggers an event that auto-logs in an entire raid force, AFK macros the boss, then camps out with all the loot....100% afk.
