Language Macro

Post by BlackTooth » Wed Jan 28, 2004 7:55 pm

Heres my first macro ever =)
What it does is spamms the language to the group
I double box with this and have both peeps running the loop
As long as only one of the guys has AT LEAST 1(ONE) point in the language they can both learn it.
If you have a cple chars running it all on the same language they can go from only one person having a low skill in it to all of them being masters at it in like 10 minutes

In the next version if i get around to it i wann have it cycle through your languages and run untill the other people and you are masters at the language

Well anyways.. Here she is

Code: Select all

|--- Langloop.mac
|--- Autolanguage for Group Spamming
|--- Developed by BlackTooth
|--- If you have two people running this macro
|--- You dont need them to be good at all in the language
|--- Just set them both on the same language and they
|--- Will increase each others skill in the language
|--- From 0 to 100 takes a few minutes
|--- More peeps you have spamming the faster she goes

Sub Main
	/echo Language Macro Starting
	/call Dosay
/return

Sub Dosay

	:Langloop
	{
/gsay "You are learning a brand new language, Feel Special eh?"
/gsay "Well you shouldnt because you are not learning it fast enough!"
/gsay "Do you have any idea how much my mouth is gonna hurt after this?!"
		/gsay "Study Study Study Hard"
		/gsay "Practice makes stinkin perfect"
/gsay "Well it better make perfect or i am gonna sue"
	}
	/goto :Langloop
/return
[/code]

Kinda a dumb question to be asking i guess but
Do you need to know the language for your macro to work?
or does it let u learn it even though you dont know it?

Its for teaching languages to other people. You could however get a toon and put 1 point into every language and run this on both characters then have both of them maxed out.

You only gain 1 point over what the teachers' skill is until you zone.

eg 2 toons, 1 with Vah Shir skill of 1, the other with 0, he can teach you up to level 2 of Vah Shir, but no more, you both zone, and you can teach him to level 3 and no more, etc etc.

You can't just start with both toons with low skill and start a macro and expect to be both at 100 an hour later (unless your macro includes zoning).

That may have changed. I was able to max all languages in a night.

I setup both of my toons and made sure that one of them has at least a 1 in all languages. After a night of both of them spaming each other I was 100 in all languages in about 3-4 hours.

I did this on blue server in PoK just sitting under a tree.

You don't have to zone anymore, it just works.

Call me crazy but without setting the language by hand it seems to not work.

/language 3
/gsay hello

that still comes up in common

No, you dont need to zone anymore. I run the macro all the time and it works. Maybe you had to at one point but not anymores =)

This didn't work in PoTranquility (no skillups) - but works in PoKnowledge. Thanks for the nice macro!

hmmm

Post by BlackTooth » Mon Feb 02, 2004 10:20 pm

I can't seem to get either one of these working for some reason. Maybe it's just me though. Whenever I run them, the messages are spammed, but in common tongue....not in whatever different language I'm trying to train in. I've tried the first one and manually set the language, and I tried the second one that cycles through the languages. Anyone have any ideas? I made in in-game macro to a hotkey and it works just fine.
I assume u set the window for the group talk on the language u wanted right?

It might depend what server yer on too.. I am on a roleplay server and maybe the way the languages work on the different servers is different or something.

Just a thought

Having the same problem with the spammed language going through group in common even with the language changed manually. Typing a regular group message sends it in the language, but the macro goes in common.
