Question for you guys

Post by w00tz0r » Fri Dec 26, 2003 8:35 pm

Id figure someone here would know this..

Is there a hard cap on mana regen in EQ?

I was told there was a cap at 35/tick.

Im trying to decide if i want add an enchanter to my hydra team of shm/dru/rog/pal. Id love to have the extra mana regen to help the druid support being the main healer.

But no one on any other forums seems to know if there is a mana regen cap per tick.

Ive seen over 60 mana/tick on a necro liching but zero ft items. Think pot9 and maybe spiritual dominion were on, and not using the best lich.

Thanks for the reply! =) Guess i will be adding an enchanter to the mix of my group =)

I have a horrid time deciding what classes to have in my hydra group lol.

But i figure Shm,Dru,Rog,Pal,Enc should be a formidable group indeed =)

Thanks again

I do know one little bit, Flowing thught items are capped at a total of 15 (in whatever combination), no idea how much spells can add to that (I'd assume whatever you can get to stack). C5 alone is like 17 mana/tick, plus the beastlord line of hit/mana regen stacks with that, plus I assume you can benefit from bard mana regen, plus Illusion Regen (like the necro lich spells).

That's 15+18+14+9 == 56 mana/tick right there, so 35/tick is obviously wrong, add in necro Arch Lich (35/tick all by itself) and you have 91 mana/tick.

Most folks would pick:
Clr/Enc/Rog/War, plus either dru or wiz for transport (usually dru for damage shields, backup healing). Your group is light on healing (especially after Pally's LoH is gone), plus lacking warrior's defensive disc, plus no crowd control for pulls gone bad. (Until you add the chanter).. Shaman is pretty much dead weight with enc\clr\dru along. Trust me on that one, I have a high level shaman.

Well i figured the shamans buffs/dots would be a descent addition.

But my 4man team is still low level so there is no reason i cant change what im playing. They are all only level 30 so its not a big deal.

I have 4 accounts currently, getting a 5th soonly.

Thank you very much for the reply, i have gotten no useful replies on other message boards (go figure)

Ive been using genbot (bless grimjacks soul) sad to hear he quit. But anyway So then war, rog, clr, ench, dru makes sense i spose =)

I may miss the stat buffs from teh sham or slay undead on the pally, but i think your prolly right best overall.

If I was going to do box group:

Cleric
Paladin/Warrior
Shaman
2 Rogues
Magician

That is some serious DPS. It is easy enough to get mana regen buffs from other people.

I'd replace the rogue with a beast (for mana regen and they have great dps) and possibly the magician with a necro (for pulling) or maybe even a bard (for mana regen, and could haste/heal the group).

WELL! Good tips =) I have 5 accounts, and really can't afford a 6th , atleast until later this year. As it is its gonna be 150 bucks to upgrade all of em to LDON.

Basically im looking for a group that will be able to "complete" high level LDoN adventures. I have played a mage a long time ago and have no real desire to play one again.

I figure
War
Rog
Clr
Enc
Dru

I COULD replace druid with BST

I was figuring druid due to ports / evac regen damage sheild dots and nukes PLUS backup healing.

But seems bst gets regen some shm buffs backup slowing nice dps and mana regen.

And i have never played a bst so i think that may be cool actually

there is no cap.. thus the nerf on reclaim energy on magicians.. it was possible to get 670 mana back in one tick (and yes, this showed up as mana regen on mq)

Im fairly certian there is no cap, at least an obtainable one. With MQ i've seen 180+ per tick with good buffs, FT, and Paragon.

Keep the druid. Legacy of Spike, Pack Chloro, Breath of Ro, Winged Death, Scoriae, Illumination of Ro... All good stuff.

What's wrong with 5 necros and a cleric? That should be good enough for infinite mana and damage, plus it makes the macros fairly easy to make while you're at it ;)
