walk vs run status

Post by xandshift » Fri Dec 12, 2003 7:00 pm

Is there a way to tell in which state the walk/run button is in? or just to tell wether your toon is in the run mode or walk mode? Thanks for the help.

The easiest way to do this is to test your character and see how fast they run and how fast they walk using $char(speed).

For example, my character runs at speed 130.00 and walks at speed 65.71 ..therefore, you could determine whether your character is walking or running based on those values at any point in your script.

Of course too, using my example, anything greater than 129.99 would be running/sow/horse/etc. Also, you can also tell if your character is moving while "crouched" using this method as well, as the character will move slower while in the crouched position.
