MQ2 Question

Post by MQSEQ » Fri Dec 05, 2003 11:22 am

I guess this will teach me not to visit the site. I have a few questions since the wonderful SourceForge isn't worth a flip.

1) Where is the latest Zip file (http://macroquest2.com/main.php?p=download) points to a old file. And the link in the Anouncement, now points to the intro page.

2) Does the CVS work for MQ2? If so does anyone have the connect string for it?

3) Install instructions, I keep reading about the steps, but I have never found the steps. Maybe since MQ2 has gone to using MQ2Auth there should be a Sticky with a Link to the Zip and the step by step instructions, since a large majority of folks can't use MQ2 since there are no binaries being posted.

4) Is the Telnet option working yet? All I have seen is it's broken and being worked on. So currently to use MQ2 you would need to use the MQ2 Chat window to do the commands. Even tho it's undectable to the EQ client I would still prefer not to do any MQ commnads from the EQ machine.

The rearranging of the site has made it harder (IMO) to locate what a peron is looking for.

I guess for the meantime I will still use MQ1 since it's very easy to set up and I'll just convert Offset Addresses when necessary.

You mean like this link? Oddly titled "MQ2 Latest Release", and oddlly in a forum called "MQ2::Announcements". How strange.

http://macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4029

Has all the info you need.

1) On download page:
MQ2-Latest.zip was last modified: December 03 2003 18:57:05.
3) From the link above, on page one:

4) From the link above, on page four:
Lax wrote:MQ2Telnet is rewritten, see the new MQ2Telnet.ini if you use it.

I just realized, even more oddly. On page one, in bright red letters. Which, I understand, next to white text on a dark background would be hard to spot:

Cool thanks Doodman for the help, it was nice of you to take the time to point out the locations of everything. Hats off to ya.

Just tried the http://macroquest2.com/?p=download link on the http://macroquest2.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4029 page and it takes you to http://macroquest2.com/?p=download which shows the MQ2 intro page.

That Red Working had stated not working.

1) From the intro page, click on the image.
2) From the main MQ page click Download from the side bar menu
3) Just below the big red "read the", there is a link called " MQ2 Latest Source Zip".
4) Click that. Ba-da-bing.

I knew to go to the Download page (been here to many times). The color schemes suxs on that page, to hard to read.

My ultimate goal of the original post was to make a Step by Step like this:

Step 1: Download http://macroquest2.com/downloads/MQ2-Latest.zip
Step 2: Compile with these instructions blah blah blah

Just think of it like this, the more up front work done for the user the fewer of these types of posts. I will check it all out and make the Step by Step for VS .NET 2003 then you can sticky it just like DKAA did for MQ1 :)
