MQ not working

Post by Just » Thu Aug 22, 2002 3:08 pm

I haven't been able to get MQ to work since the last patch on 7/26. Am I missing something or is everyone else waiting for a new release like me?

Works fine for me. You got the latest install and the latest ini file?

Whats it doing, or not doing?

Is it crashing eq? do you get error messages?

Well...when I load MQ like I did before (when it was working) it simply doesn't appear to have loaded into EQ when I log in. I usually check to see it if loaded by doing a "/" and if it returns the locs of people I know it has loaded, recently this hasn't been happening. It isn't crashing EQ or giving me the "wrong version" message either.

I haven't changed any ini files, so if there is a new one please explain what I need to do to get it to work.

Thanks.

On the front page of the website you should see a link for "MQ EQGame.ini (Offsets) 814" this is the updated ini file you need. 814 means they are for the 8-14-2002 patch (the last patch as of this post). Just download that and put it into your MacroQuest folder replacing any current one that is there. Please be aware that there are currently a lot of issues with MacroQuest and the new UI, such as random crashing and item loss. You probably should stay away from MacroQuest until the next version comes out, which will (hopefully) take care of these problems, if you plan on using the new UI.

Awsome, thanks. I'll give it a try - and to be safe I'll do it on a machine that isn't using the new UI.

to sum up what tux said and a couple of other things to check as well
  • 1)Get version of MQ for 26/07 Patch, there's a link to it on the top of the Main Macroquest page
2)Get the eqgame.ini from The main as well for the 14/08
3)Make sure the New UI is turned off.
