I think you misunderstood what I meant...
in both MQ1 and MQ2, my foreground FPS is limited to 100, and my background FPS is limited to 20
I have a decent computer/connection:
AMD Athlon 1.0ghz
512mb PC2100 DDR ram
GeForce4 MX420 64mb AGP
RoadRunner Cable Modem
For testing purposes I have switched to low graphic texture quality, mipmapping off, texture compression on, social animations off, texture caching on.
EQW is being used, as I have no problems with running EQW instead of a naked EQ client.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM:
I am swarmkiting nightstalkers in PoN and everything is fine with no MacroQuest.
Everything is fine when running MQ1.
Framerate drops when a third monster enters the screen while using MQ2.
Framerate mysteriously returns to normal when no more than TWO monsters are on screen.
The framerate difference is TREMENDOUS. Movement and rotation is extremely choppy when several (5+) mobs are on screen, using MQ2.
This problem, again, does not occur when using MQ1 or a naked EQ client.
---------------------------------
The mq2fps plugin helped me determine what my exact framerate numbers were, and the lag was occuring with AND without most of the plugins loaded. The only plugin I didn't turn off in the test was mq2chtwnd.

I hope this post provides more information for the bug I experienced
