Crashing 9-22

Post by AarynD » Mon Sep 22, 2003 7:07 pm

Just downloaded and recompiled latest zip. Copied over the offets from the latest offsets file in the forums. After I get past char selection screen, and am entering game, client crashes.

Any suggestions?

yes leave eqgame.ini alone, if it comes with mq thats what you need, the forum post doesnt have all the offsets...

Thanks, did that, it works fine now.

Forgive me for being a bit ignorant here, but the eqgame.ini files that typically come in the zips always show up wierd when I go in to look at them (there are little square boxes where the return/line breaks are supposed to occur). Because it's like this, I've always just zapped the file, and loaded in the most current offset from the forums, and resaved the file. Apparantly it didn't work for me this time around.

Is there any chance we'll be able to get a stickied post that always contains the most current offsets, even if they've been changed between patches?

Thankies

Most files in this project are in a unix format, when you open it with windows' notepad it will not display thae line breaks correctly. If you'd like to view the file on windows, I'd suggest opening it in WordPad or try using a different text editor (such as Textpad) that can handle unix style line breaks.

The zip and CVS will always have the latest offsets, you can find them there.

Ah, okies, I figured it was something like that... I just wasn't sure if the text file being in a different format would work once the program was on a Windows machine, and was being run. It does tho :)
