Events not working? sending variables

Post by wizbomb » Sat Aug 15, 2009 7:35 pm

Hello,

First I just want to say thank you very much for this software. I have been using it for some time now and have grown quite fond of it. I was really hesitant to post on here about some problems I have had with the most recent patch/MQ update. I really don?t know if this is something I have screwed up or if it is something you guys are working on to fix. So here goes and I?m sorry if I?m a idiot for posting. I am using == Last updated: August 14 2009 04:34:42 (MQ2-20090814a).

With the recent update I have had troubles with #event and passing variables with that.

I have been using a following and assist trigger. This is only parts of the macro.

#Event FOLLOW "#1# #*#FOLLOW ME#*#"
#Event ASSIST "#1# #*#ASSIST ME#*#"

Sub Event_FOLLOW(Line, Follow_Who)

/target ${Follow_Who}

Sub Event_ASSIST(Line, Assist_Who)

/assist ${Assist_Who}

I troubleshoot the events with /echo FOLLOW and /echo ASSIST and they are going to the subs just fine.

On the following one it tells me that there is now spawn of any <charname>

So Wizbomb says, FOLLOW ME

It says no spawn of any wizbomb

I was thinking for some reason the /target was not working so I just put in a /target wizbomb and that worked.

Nothing changed in my macros or anything for some time now. So could this be something I screwed up in the build or is it a broken MQ? Thank you for your help.

you are reading my mind on the VIP. i was setting up a paypal to do it. Whats in the VIP? is it a lot better? i have been just doing things through macros. writing some neat stuff and all has been well.

Do you know if its going to be a "Required" work around? or there a fix in the works? I had changed some of my macs to just use /target wizbomb instead of using the ${WHO_FOLLOW}. something borked about the varibles i am guessing.

i also came across this site xxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx. whats up with it? I assume it could be one of those no good places trying to get your money but i remember reading something about there mostly for the plug ins while this site is for just the program it self.. Im happy with macroquest2.com.

edit i think xxxxxxxxx is blocked must be bad then. forgive the xxxxxs its blocking it for a reason =P search function turned up rather bad press on that..

Bunch useful plugins and macros. It's way better. The VIP community is active, and help each other out.

I took an EQ break for about 4 years, and am getting back into it. I wouldn't have bothered without MQ2, the VIP macros, and InnerSpace for managing multibox.

Donate, most definitely worth it.

The problem seems to be that tells and group chat have the names as links so you can right click them and 'report spam'.

so the chat used to be

soandso tells the group, 'hello!'

is now

XXsoandsoXX tells the group, 'hello!'

where the XX's are some link information that needs to get stripped off. There some talk in VIP about how the best way to go about this should be.
