Before I look at 200 lines of xml, what are you trying to accomplish.

Do you have a screenshot of what you want it to look like?

ITs been a while since I last used it but....

Post by nbjeter3 » Sun Jan 29, 2006 10:42 pm

If I remember right it looked something like this:

Code: Select all

 ___________________________________
| Targetname here
| ------hp percent and class-----
|Target Level & distance from me
 -----------------------------------
Or something to that effect.. I Think there was a direction to target in there too.. I managed to cram a LOT of stuff into it sorry for the really bad text art but I can't find a screenshot of it from when I had it working. Once I can get the parts werking I can get the stuff placed where I need it. Its the components I'm having problems with though. Thanks in advance for any help.

old ui files works as before, if you follow these steps:

create a directory under uifiles named myui, copy all xml from default_old directory. overwrite the targetwindow with your xml file, load ui

MAybe I wasn't clear enough sorry. my bad

Post by nbjeter3 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:39 am

The thing is This UI was last used about a year ago... When I say old I mean OLD maybe a lil longer. I tried that and when I load the UI it bombs out and loads their new annoying one as default... If ya don't believe me try it. Put this into a targetwindow xml file and try loading it and tell me if it works for you. If it does then I'm prolly doing something REALLY stupid obvious that i need to fix. Thanks again for any help you can give.

UIErrors.txt please.

also, on http://www.eqinterface.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43 every ui related patch in eq is archived. refer to uierrors.txt to what you miss, and fix it up.

[Mon Jan 30 08:23:08 2006] XML reference error! WindowDrawTemplate[12]:WDT_Target[10] referenced but NEVER declared!

Do the default_old copy/paste then try changing

<DrawTemplate>WDT_Target</DrawTemplate>
to

Code: Select all

<DrawTemplate>WDT_Rounded</DrawTemplate>
The window isn't perfect, but you knew that already. At least it doesn't break your UI this way and you can work from there

Alternately, if you 'must have' WDT_Target as your template, you'll need to set it up in either your EQUI or Animations file (I forget which - it's been a while..)
