Request/Idea -- Alternate text-based EQ client?

Is this possible? I was checking out of EQIM and was wondering if it was possible to program an alternative client that lets you control your character from a chatbox...

In another MMORPG, Ragnarok Online, macro programs were able to connect to the game server and run characters through a seperate, text-based client

I was thinking that this may be good for cleric bots and take up less resources when trying to 2-box or 3-box characters. Movement may be done by arrows and instead of having a visual, have a constant updating /Loc and compass? or a radar such as SEQ?

have you looked into the telnet function MQ gives you..

Uhm... did you read past the first line of the post?

been thought about a lot.

assuming you start from scratch, youd have to send every response exactly formatted as teh server wantse and vice versa with the client... Eqemu ignores packets it doesnt know what to do with so their source wont be tell all.. we still dont undertsand a LOT of the packetstructres for EQ, they arent all documented...

itd be an immennse project with significant updates per patch

but it would be interesting... Id love to work on one, but whether it could be done before EQ2 comes out, im not sure.
