K bear with me very new to macroquest, but not new to code just been a lonnnng time. Friend sent me the macro quest program, AWESOME program, works good for skilling up and saving me carpel tunnel! Question/problem, the vendors that he had in the program are in a high traffic area so I am kind scared to use it while away for more than like 5 minutes. I want to be able to change the vendor names, but after a lot of headache I have figured out I can change them in the macro file BUT there is a varset file somewhere with the merchant names also I think which have to be matched to the macro? What file or place would that varset file be in? I have looked and looked but cant find it, I may be totally wrong actually and that is not right, I asked him but he said someone sent it to him also and he isnt the sharpest tack in the box actually. Hope this doesnt sound like a stupid question to all you iold timers out there.

usually when you create a macro which "use" merchants or NPCs of any kind, you make it dynamic... I dont know what your macro do, and since you dont post it, I can only guess, but I guess it can be run maybe by specifying the merchant on the commandline? /macro <nameofmacro.mac> "name of merchant"

I had thought it might be dynamic also as it has the typical target merchant setting, but the thing has a sub routine for open merchant also which assigns merchant name to a varset name, which I assume means it has to match them name somewhere else also in another file perhaps. But elsewhere it has a define merchant name command that says v45(I assume this is varset?) Sorry I have only been toying with this for about two weeks, I will email my friend and see who he got the program from and if it is ok to post it here or not. I am not a wiz at code as it has changed so much I have no idea what a varset is, am learning by reading the boards though.
