Post by Maverick » Sat Aug 02, 2003 3:47 am

is there anyone who can make some of these macros as simple trainers?
im not knowledgble on this stuff and think simple trainers for these macros would be great.

visual studio is not free its a Microsoft product. Someone mentioned, that there are cheap books like learn vc in 21 days, and vc for dummies type of books, that ships with a version of visual c++ 6.0 so maybe thats the cheapest solution for you, go get one of thoose books. then read the post above and the links in it.

a cvs client is free btw. but you can most likely just pick up the zip file on the downloads page. (Thanks to DKAA for keeping that thing up to date)

MQ scripts are so freaking easy you really shouldn't need a trainer.
Heck, take an hour or two and just read people's scripts. You can figure out most of it, and what you don't know just by glancing (variable handling and events maybe?) you can learn by taking an IRC scripting tutorial (http://www.mirc.com , download that and just read the help files and how to script). MQ scripting and IRC scripting isn't identical, but they have the same retardedly basic structures to them. People in MQ aren't extremely mean or anything, I bet if you take the time and really can't figure something out, someone here will be nice enough to give ya an answer or at least a hint to figure it out.

I could sit down and write a ton of trainers talking about the aspects of MQ, but it's really a sort of waste of time. If you learn the structure behind basic scripting, you can look at just about any of the macros posted and learn TONS from them.

I'm not bashing you or anything, I'm just telling ya this isn't rocket science and you can learn it!

I think by trainer he means a program you just run that has simple buttons. They are usually made for small single player or limited multiplayer games like Diablo. I don't think that the people who make MQ have this type of target in mind, and I would guess that it would not be an easy thing to do since you already have to compile MQ anyway. I doubt anyone is going to look to deeply into this, i suspect that like SEQ the developers don't really care if you use their program or not, nor do they care how easy or hard it is to use. all that matters is it does what they want it to do and well.

Do a search on a script your interested in writing... if there is a macro for it read it and take a look at all of the code and understand what it is doing on each line, that's how I learned.

No. There are assembly language problems with the detours library.

If you take the time to convert detours to ATT assm language, I will finish the mq parts. It's not a small job, though, but not too hard.

really? I thought that once a library was compiled into a .lib, any linker could link to it... regardless of what it was coded in originally....

detours would need to be recompiled to use a different compiler?

Maverick, there are two possible scenarios at work here.

Either you're a clueless smurf (I actually typed smurf, as that's what it would have become anyway), who really wants to learn, but doesn't realise that what he's asking is akin to asking someone to teach them brain surgery over the telephone.

or

You are smurf hut smurf smurf smurf (insert words as necessary) just trying to stir up antagonism and flames by such inane requests.

Either way, you'll ultimately fail. Have a nice day.

im wanting to learn. but yes ...i am very new to this programing and all that.

however since it seems that i probably wont be able to do it my self.
id be willing to make a donation to the site for someone else to do it...or give me step by step instructions.

.... You can't just be taught how to script, it's not like that. You need to look at a script you think would be easy to comprehend and realize what every line does... and also

http://macroquest2.com/readme.php

That manual has code examples in it. read it..
