Please post zems in this thread

hello, I would like some help with gathering zems, if you got the $zone(zem) working in your copy of mq, please post the values here... I will add to the list as I have time, and enter the zones, and please do a / npc as well to check levels... I was surprised lguk only has 6.67% extra bonus while Uguk is as good as paludal! great PL zones, for twinks 1 to 20...

solA (solusek's eye) 130 = 73.3% bonus levels 18 to 34
SolB 80 = 6.67% bonus
lowerguk 80 = 6.67% bonus
upperguk 150 = 100% bonus
unrest 130 = 73.3% bonus levels 10 to 35
Kedge keep 100 = 33.33% bonus levels 40-49 and a few 30-39
Grimling Forest 80 = 6.67% bonus levels 30-45
Plane of Knowledge 95 = 26.67% bonus
Crypt of Nadox 85 = 13.33% bonus
The Gulf of Gunthak 85 = 13.33% bonus
eartha 140 = 86.67% bonus 
earthb 140 = 86.67% bonus 
water 160 = 113.33% bonus 
storms 170 = 126.67% bonus 
justice 140 = 86.67% bonus
torment 140 = 86.67% bonus
ssra 100 = 33.33% bonus 
cazic 85 = 13.33% bonus
vexthal 85 = 13.33% bonus
Tower of frozen shadow 85 = 13.33% bonus
Netherbian Lair 80 = 6.67% bonus
Shadowhaven 10 = 86.67% penalty
Crystal Caverns 85 = 13.33% bonus levels 25 - 35

I was under the impression that id the standard ZEM was 75, a ZEM of 85 would actually be 85/75 = 1.13 = 13% bonus... is this true or am I over complicating this hehe.

Actually that sounds more in line with what has "traditionally" been believed about most zones.

For example, the newb "dungeons", Blackburrow, Runnyeye, Befallen, and Kurn's Tower, are all supposed to be 18% bonus. Paludal Caverns is probably in that list as well.

nah you arent over complicating it, but you are assuming that the float which describes the ZEM is describing it as an integer that is part of a formula which is used to calculate a chars exp.

anyway since that is the most reasonable theory, I changed my post to display the ZEM as a set value.

But notice that if we assume the ZEM is a percentage, (as was my approach in the initial post), then if zem is for example 85% it has indeed increased by 10% not by 13.33%

anyway, I am just interested in getting ppl to post zems for zones be it in percent or whatever and since the only replies I got so far is of a mathematical nature I thought I better change it lol... :) thanks though.

This is what Lax told me and what I've always believed :)
"The exp modifier display using %.2f .. 0.75 is base, anything higher is bonus (0.80 would be 5% bonus, 0.85 would be 10% bonus, etc) and anything lower is a penalty (0.70 is 5% penalty, etc)."

I very well could be wrong hehe, I never did any testing on my thoery there. I just assumed that they are numbers not percentages and the number 85 is 13% larger than the number 75.

Why hasnt the ZEM code been inserted into the CVS?!

This is awesome code and majorly important information and should be a part of everyones features, who needs their asses beat to get this done?

although after looking thru the code, I see its /zem, not $zone(zem)

the latter would be much better to have. Its not in CVS as of this posting.

:) The $zone(zem) and $zone(bonus) macro variables were only written two days ago ... give them a little time to get them added.

I hadn't planned on adding the $zone(zem) and $zone(bonus) since I can't imagine a macro where that info would be particularly useful. If someone can give me an example, I'll add it.

The /zem command is already in.

thanks :) thats what I wanted!

but some of them seem outdated, paludal was just 150 when I checked, and shadowhaven is on a 60% penalty

anyway maybe sony change them back and forth, or maybe its different depending on the level of the char you check with... no idea, anyway it gives me a direction.

Nadox was 85 (as opposed to 75 on the list above) last time I checked...but that's been a couple weeks.
