MQ or other?

Post by Plazmic » Mon Jun 17, 2002 12:15 pm

You posted under the EverQuest section, so I'm hoping it wasn't MQ related...

Hi,

Well, i dont know what banned me. If it was use of offset-hacks or MQ. If its MQ, they might have been wondring why i foraged in 4 hours in the same interval... Could it have been that?

Maybe my speedy monk :) Speeded up to highlvl SoW with some offset-hacks. I really dont know...

Maybe they will tell me :) Ive mailed them to ask why i got banned... Wondring what (if any) the answer will be... :-)

The server knows how fast you can move.
The client does the moving.
If the server sees you move too fast, it flags you for a ban

Agree =) As far as i've found out, looking at different boards, the SH is the most common banreason, as u say.

But i wonder one thing... As Plazmic says:
The server knows how fast you can move.
The client does the moving.
If the server sees you move too fast, it flags you for a ban
If u keep the SH lvled so u do not exceed SoW, would it be 'safe', or...?

I'm not sure how well they check, but it's probably safe to say:
Don't do it

Speedhack

Post by joetest123 » Mon Jun 17, 2002 9:35 pm

Most ways to speed hacking, that I know, actually increase the amount of cycles your processor is running. It can be measured several ways, something as easy as having the client report a time back to the server, and see how out of sync it was from the last time you sent time.

Im not calling names here, but this is a very easy hack to get caught using.

This is not like Gear

The speed hack for making you run like crazy has nothing to do with messing with your timing registers. You should never ever run a cheating utility. MQ is more of an enhancement. If you want to run extremely quickly go use the cheese macro sample and make enough money to buy yourself a Jboots multiquest.
