Line of Sight code changed..?!

Post by papiraul » Fri Jul 18, 2003 4:01 am

With MQ you've always been able to target things from anywhere in the zone..
And always in the past when I've been using MQ I've been able to target things through walls and cast spells on them.. But that doesn't work anymore..
Is this something that SOE has fixed or is it something in MQ that not has been fixed since the patch..
It's always handy to land spells before mobs get into LoS, specially in raids with peeps everywhere.. and it's awalys nice to be able to stand behind a wall hiding from AOE and still being able to cast heals etc..

Anyone noticed this aswell?

I haven't noticed any changes like that, maybe it's because of the zone you were in. in outdoor zones you can cast detrimental spells through walls, but in dungeons you cannot.

LoS has been changed.

Exactlky how you described it. If anything is blocking your view of the mob, you can't cast on it. Very noticeable in some encounters in the elemental planes, resulting in our having to change tactics and pulling methods.

Yes it has been changed. And it's very annoying. In some places even a little hill ends up blocking you even if you can fully see the mob. It's beyond retarded and they should change it back or at least tweak it to actually work in a decent fashion.
