can not seem to get the animation file updated properly (unless they borked something else)

sorting by last modified just showing:

marketplace
animations
characterlistwnd
mercenarymanagewnd
tradeskillwnd

of which this UI only uses animations of that list

someone else manage to get the animations (and thusly the rest of this UI) working again? Have been doing a side-by-side comparison of the files and adding in the missing items from the default file. Apparently that is not enough after this patch =/

Here's the one I'm using.

afraid I could not get mine to work. Must be something other then the animations file that needs altering, and I canna figure it out. Since UI's are "all or nothing" it makes it difficult to debugg something that interlocks with other files (ran across one UI that requires the custom aura window to make the rest work) IE can't just drop in 1 file at a time in a new folder to see which one is breaking it.

I ended up redoing my UI using pieces from EQInterface then making alterations to fit what I wanted, then adding MQ code (since mostly what I was after was the target window and some other stuff)

I have found that there is a uierrors.txt file in the eq directory that shows where it is failing at. On mine it looks like it just grabs missing files from the default ui. Then it actually fails on the EQUI_Animations.xml file. I'm not sure how to attach it, but at the end of the file it shows:
[Sun May 04 18:45:26 2014] XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_FreePlayerIcon[1309] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_SilverPlayerIcon[1310] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_AllAccessMemberIcon[1311] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_ClaimBanner[1312] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_FreeToAllAccessIcon[1313] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_AllAccessHoverIcon[1314] referenced but NEVER declared!
XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_SilverToAllAccessIcon[1315] referenced but NEVER declared!

[Sun May 04 18:45:26 2014] Error validating symbol table.
[Sun May 04 18:45:26 2014] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.

In my totally amateur way I have tried replacing files, combining different ui's and other stuff but so far no luck either. I do have the SparxxUI and it is working, but it doesn't have the MQ2 stuff so it is useless to me. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can better understand the uierrors.txt file and explain what we need to change to make it work again...

Are you sure you unzipped and placed the EQUI_Animations.xml file in your Frequency UI directory (overwriting the old one), from the post I made a couple back (on may 1st)? That one has those defined in it, and I am using that in game as I type this.

Not sure about Areva's error there. But now that I know where to look (thank you!) the apparent error I am getting is

Code: Select all

[Tue May 06 19:13:50 2014] Warning: file EQUI_AggroMeterWnd.xml not found in directory UIFiles\Freq-mod\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Tue May 06 19:13:50 2014] Warning: file EQUI_BazaarConfirmationWnd.xml not found in directory UIFiles\Freq-mod\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Tue May 06 19:13:52 2014] XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_chatCloseH[1330] referenced but NEVER declared!

[Tue May 06 19:13:52 2014] Error validating symbol table.
[Tue May 06 19:13:52 2014] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.
outside of a long list of other not found warnings of course.

Looked over the chatClose part of the animations file, looks exactly the same as the default one.

re-DLed the earlier posted files to another folder (incase one of my files is corrupted) and gave that a go with your animations file HTW, no joy :(

Not sure what all is going on there, but do appreciate your input =)

offhand, what is the significance of the number after the error? 1330 in my case.

OK here is the last few lines of the uierrors.txt file after reloading the equi_animations from a few posts up:

[Tue May 06 22:26:53 2014] Warning: file EQUI_AggroMeterWnd.xml not found in directory UIFiles\Frequency\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Tue May 06 22:26:53 2014] Warning: file EQUI_BazaarConfirmationWnd.xml not found in directory UIFiles\Frequency\. Attempting to use file from Default skin.
[Tue May 06 22:26:56 2014] XML reference error! Ui2DAnimation[6]:A_chatCloseH[1303] referenced but NEVER declared!

[Tue May 06 22:26:56 2014] Error validating symbol table.
[Tue May 06 22:26:56 2014] Error loading skin: loading default skin instead.

By the way, if it makes a difference I am running on Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1.

That was a change they made some time back, but was probably left alone in frequency. I'll just post the full zip here in a bit.

Unzip this templates to your Frequency directory and try. That's where that one error is coming from.

I can't attach the entire thing here, it says limit is 256k, no way that's going to make it. I can put it somewhere else if you need the entire thing.
