Resources for learning to write scripts?

Have MQ compiled and it works great, but I would really like to learn to script on my own (not just to perform specialized functions that I don't already see macros for, but also to gain an understanding of how the scripts others write work).

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it greatly.

The Readme.html that is found in the /release directory of your CVS download in addition to the macro examples that come under /release/macros should provide all the information you could possibly want :)

Look at some of the macros that are out there. I am sure you will get the idea if you take a look at currently available macro stuffs and the readme
