Request a Smithing Skill Macro to 200

Post by FunIsEq » Sun Jul 21, 2002 12:50 pm

Hello, I am looking for a smithing macro that will automatically take me to 200 skill level...been trying to do it on my own and having a hard time. A similar macro would be useful as well if there is one I can imitate. I don't mind doing the buying and selling, but would like something to run through all items and end loop when no more items are present as well as auto dropping created items into bags. I tried using cheese.mac but I'm new to this...any help would be greatly appreciated.

ornate cainmail is up, look around. Also after that you need fine steel, not that far so i have not macroed it yet.

If there is one thing i hate its the kinds of posts of people asking for macros to be custom made for them :x sorry dude but i'm not droping anything to make you a macro. I would pause to help you with a project you have started but don't ask ppl to make a macro for you. I kinda find it rude but thats just MHO.

have fun Bsmithing.

Was not looking for someone to make me a macro Goge, I just wanted someone to post one if one was already in existence (I read somewhere on the board a smithing macro got deleted due to rearranging the site) or just drop me a snipit of advice so I can get plugging along on how to hit this up on my own.

Anyhow, thanks for the refereral to ornate chain.

Did you mean to delete this one too?

...or, is smithing to 200 different than JC to 200? Not a flame, just curious :)

Thanks for bringing that up Amadeus...I wrote this post in thinking that since a fletching and jewelry macro to 200 skill exists that maybe a smithing one did...I did not know however that such things are not allowed on the forum, sorry. I'm plugging away at creating one myself though...hehe. :D

why?

Post by FlashG » Mon Jul 22, 2002 11:13 am

L124rd, not to flame, but please explain why skillup macros are not allowed on the board. I personally have NP with a macro that skillups spells and abilities (as long as its NOT unattended). Why are NON-money making skillups of Smithing or jewls different?

Salutations,
I do not wish to have skill up macros on the boards, as all skills CAN lead to moneymaking. ((i didn't just say that did i?)) If one hundred players have 200 in all there tradeskills in a week, whats gonna happen to the people who spend months just to advacne themselves to 200 in one tradeskill? If you have a macro, post it if you like, but I would like to try to keep the forums clean of such macros as to reduce the risk of verant nerfing macroquest once and for all. I do not care if there is a macro that makes 500p max, i don't care if there is a macro to buy sell and make an item over and over (even if it is a 0 to 200, yer just makin gthe 200 item over and over) but please, do not make it so that the macroquest users are taking over the whole everquest economy.

Skill Up Macs

Post by Arioch » Mon Jul 22, 2002 1:08 pm

Answer to that is very simple.

VI has invested a lot of time and gets a lot of input from the player base regarding tradeskills.

If you release a tradeskill mac to the masses that lets you get skill quicker than the majority of the playerbase you hurt those deliberately trying to work skills the 'old-fashioned' way.

Write your own mac if you want but it wont be released to the general public because if used in quantity it will hurt other players. MQ is designed to help those who use it but not at the expense of other people - that is why they get deleted.

If you start hurting others by making their efforts trivial - VI will take notice and will do more than they have already to nerf the abilities of MQ and other macro programs.

Ill post the lanterns one into the macro depot...shame that they reduced the trivial on skewers - nice and easy way to raise skill to 115 or similar...

Ok,

the lantern was the tinkering one - so ive posted the really simple one for combining banded boots. still means u have to either manually buy items, or update the code for your own use. just takes a lot of monotony out of skilling up - exactly what MQ was written for!

Hmmm.. I dunno about you, but I got 222 smithing on one of my chars just before the smithing nerf and it was a f*cking bitch to get(the old fashioned way).

I was really hating VI and cursing them to hell for all that clicking that was needed.

Even though I got there by hand, I fully support the release of any macro to make it easier to skill up, because frankly, nobody else deserves to be put through all that clicking.

And I dont like censorship in general, especially if it stealthy(ie, not just removing content of a post, but removing all trace of the post itself), and if the one doing it uses the same macros he deletes for personal gain, thats just too much hypocracy for me :p

PS: wonder if this post will be deleted ;)

Yanking skillup macros from the boards is just stupid. My 2 cents

Just My opinion if you have ever done a trade skill you know you never want to do it again. I Think posting skill up macros is beneficial to everyone. Prices drop, people can advane faster, you dont have to waste HOURS upon mind numbing CLICKING hours trying to get it up. Ever get smithing to 178? o higher took me like 18hours straight to get it there before the banded nerf. It would only take the boredom out of EQ time sinks. God knows we already have enough Hello Key quests. Hello epics. Hello EQ. Things that can help progress the players and gives them more time for fun and exping etc is beneficial to all.
