Post by england20 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 4:25 pm

hey guys, im new to this and have read everything i can find on how to compile macroquest
my problem is when i load visual studio 2010 express, in the solutions explorer the MQ2 files are showing as unavailable..
and when i try to reload it gives me an error saying this file is not supported by this version of the application but yet in the forums ppl are saying they have used visual express 2010 and worked.

There are no build tabs.

You have "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express" yes?

I always used Express 2008. After I wiped my PC I decided to grab Express 2010 and had the same issue you're describing. I'm still not sure what I was doing wrong with 2010 but I went back to 2008 and had a much easier time.

I'm no pro and not sure what the difference is but maybe you could try 2008.

Hello all

I have read around the forums and installed Microsoft Visual C# Express Edition.
Download the MacroQuest2 source files
Unzip it into any new folder
Right click the folder, select Properties, and remove the Read only flag
Double-click MQ2Auth.exe.
Double-click the Macroquest2.sln file. VC.net will open the MacroQuest project

When it opens it converts the project and I have a workspace with what looks like the project files in a window to the right. All but the main file at the top are grey and read unavailable.

I cant locate a build tab

I did try this with the 2010 version but got the same result.

I know this is PICNIC, but could someone (once you have stopped laughiung) let me know where I am going wrong please?

Thanks
